frozen veggies for babies

hello all,
What do you momies think about giving cooked frozen veggies to babies if fresh are not available?
I try to avoid giving my baby food jars and always prefer fresh, what do you think? is there any difference ?

Actually I just read that frozen is actually better than fresh as fresh ones can spend a lot of time in transport and lose a lot of their nutrients over time. Frozen veggies are harvested and flashfrozen quite soon afterwards, thus maintaining their nutrients.

Do a search as there are some veggies you shouldn't give your baby just yet.

I think frozen veggies are great! I givew my DD frozen peas, carrots, corn, beans, squash, etc. I also steam and DD loves them.

I made daughter all over her baby food. I made sweet potatoes, peeled them,steamed them and blended them in a blender with bottled water. poored them into ice cube trays. 2 cubes= 1 serving. I did the same thing with carrots(not frozen ones), mangos, pears, peaches, plums. The green beans and peas are the only frozen ones I did. She loved them all! Never did she have a poop problem. Its wayyyyy cheaper too!

If you  don't have one already, invest in a good steamer. It takes only a short while to steam even frozen veggies and you maintain a lot more of the nutrients than boiling them : ) Again, do some research on homemade babyfood as I know there are some that you should not make at home yourself. I think spinahc and carrots are in that group, but I am not 100% sure.

Frozen veggies are great.  Just stay away from canned and you should be fine.
