my 18 mo boy is having low graded fever for 2 months, fever every single day

Hi,  have anyone been through this? My 18 m.o. boy had his 12 m.o. check-up in December and since then has been having low graded fever every single day for close to 3 m. His dr. ran blood tests and tb test and everything is normal... I dont think this is normal. Anyone been through this please? Thank you!

What is considered low grade?  Do you think your child just runs warm? I don't know if that's a possibility.  I'd like to know the temp though. How frustrating. I guess it's a good sign though if the Dr. has done the blood work and it is all checking out.

Hi and thank you for your response... His fever runs between 100.4 to 101.4 or 101.8. His dr thinks his is getting a viral infection after the other, but for me it seems his is never over one to get another one... He does not go to daycare, he is mostly home with my mother-in-law, but I do have a 4 y.o. who started preschool last year. It is frustrating because we mothers feel that we should be doing something to make our baby feel better, but what though?
thank you Kellym

Gosh, like I said how frustrating. Well, if there's no ear infection, strep and blood looks good, sounds like he's swopping back and forth viruses. Hopefully he will have a fantastic immune system when he starts school. Keep and eye on him and re-evaluate in a couple of weeks. If he is still running temps in  a week or 2 I'd have to take him back in. Good luck.

100.4 is at the very very top of the "normal" range for what his body temperature should be.  If he consistently ran 100.4 or a tiny bit less,  there would be less cause to worry.

101.8 is a fever by any standard.   Is he fully hydrated?

rockrose,

he is hydrated! He loves his water and still drinks 3 bottles a day. Everything seem normal with him except the fevers...  Thank you!

My daughter has had the same exact thing for 2 years now. We didn't know what it was, nor the Dr.'s. We were told it was viral & would pass, but come on, this is like the 8th time in 2 years that she has had high fever lasting a week or longer. We did blood tests & took chest xrays last time & everything came back normal. I'm so worried & constantly pray it isn't the starting stages of leukemia or something horrible like that. I thought maybe she had a bad reaction to her molars coming in but they have been in for about a year now, yet her fever returned. My daughter is 3... BTW.
