one year old weight gain

my one year old only weighs 17lbs . .how can i get him to gain weight when he doesnt like to eat much ? . .should i be concerned ?.

try giving him pediasure milk that help a lot with my daughter even she was 17lb when we went for 12months checkup so the doctor told us to give her that, i would say give it a try and see . Good luck

mysh,  that's "below the charts" for weight,  but just barely below.  Is he active and bright and seems on target for social and physical ability milestones?  

If otherwise he seems very healthy,  there's less reason to be concerned,  especially if he's always been on the small side and you have small relatives.

As Sania said,  you should ask your doc at his 12 month check up for recommendations.

I wouldnt be concerned at all.  My daughter was only 19lbs at 3yrs old and she is now 8 and only 43lb. Some kids have different body structures.  I dont think 17lbs is bad at all in my opinion of course :)
