I have been having a pink colored discharge showing on the toilet paper when i have a bowel movement when i am straining due to being constipated (one of the wonderful things of pregnancy)  Has anyone else experienced this.  It is a vaginal discharge.

thanks for any help!

Hi.  I'm newly pregnant (9 wks) and have had the same problem the WHOLE time.  It's very upsetting.  However, I finally read that your digestives system is supposed to slow down during pregnancy so that the fetus can get what it needs from you. So, if you are a daily person, you might become a every other day or even two day person.  That was very comforting to know.  Also, I am going to a perinatal specialist because of some early bleeding and he said that it was okay for me to take a stool softner (generic colace).  I also asked for prenatal vitamins that have a stool softner in it.  It has helped so much!!! Now, every other day is a victory!  Also, keep drinking that water. It really helps.  Since I stopped straining, the blood that I was passing with each bowel movement is very minimal.  Not very worrying.

Hope everything gets, and good luck.
