post partum return of menses

post partum return of menses

When is the norm for the return of your period?  I had a baby June 29th.  I have heard everything from 6 to 7 to 8 or 9 weeks.  I am going on my 9th week and am starting to worry.  My husband and I did have intercourse over a week ago but with protection.  Would a store bought pregnancy test be accurate right now?
My post partum bleeding didn't subside until about 3 weeks ago though, would this play a role?  Please put my mind at ease!!!

That depends on a lot of things.  Are you breastfeeding right now?  My period did not come back until the 16th week post partum (but I was breastfeeding).

everybody's body is different.  Some get it as early as 7 weeks post partum, some don't until 12 or so weeks.  I don't think there is a chance of pregnancy if you had protected sex.

does anyone think a home pregnancy test will work if it has only been a week?
