I am 37 years old and have been trying to conceive for 1.5 years. After 6 months, all of the usual testing took place with no problems--post coital, laproscopy for endometriosis, sperm count/mobility..etc.. My prog. level is at 11.6. I have since been referred to an infertilityInfertility Infertility - resources Primary infertility specialist. I have been put on Clomid for the next month (will not take it for another week or so) since my progesterone level is considered low....I will go in for a prog. reading 7 days after ovulating. My cycle is typically 31 days and I ovulate on day 17. My Dr. told me the Clomid will help get my level up and "regulate" my cycle to 28 days and ovulate on day 13. Since then, I have read several places that 11.6 is not low.
I am just looking for another opinion or two before I start the medication. I have heard it can be harmful if progesterone levels are not really low.
It really isn't going to be harmful and your level is, I think, borderlineBorderline personality disorder low. I don't think it will hurt anything. My husband and I started clomid on our 19th cycle of TTC and on round #2 of clomid, cycle 20 I got my BFP!!! I actually got pregnant with multiples, but m/c all but one...my 2.5 year old son!
Clomid is supposed to make you ovulate if you are already ovulating you dont need clomid. And if you just chart your bbt temps you wont need clomid. I would get a second opinion. And 11.6 is not low. I got pregnant (still am) and mine was at 12.
Good luck!
