tested before period due

im suppoesed to be due on in a couple of days,but done a preg test today and it was positive. is this accurate or not?thanx

yeah it probably is accurate go to your doc and get a blood test done cangrats

Most of the tests can detect the hcg 5 days before your missed period. I would wait to see if you get your period. If you don't than I would go and see the dr. I had a similar issue two years ago. I did the test before my missed period cause I felt pregnant. Sure enough I missed my period and was pregnant.

A negative is equivocal, but a positive is a positive.  Congratulations! Take those pre-natals and folic acid!

i tested before i even knew wen AF due and i tested positive. positive signs are not usaully incorrect. i ve heard of false negatives but not false positives, very rare, sounds like ur preggo to me. a frend of mines tested 5 days b4 AF was due and got a big fat positiive. congrats on the lil one!

Congrats!  I have gotten a positive at 5 days early, and it was accurate.  The chances of a false positive are very slim.

i did the same thing for almost a week with dollar tests.  my test didn't so bright positive until about 5 days after my period was due.  CONGRATS!!!!

Aw, congrats!  My Dr. doesn't even have you come in for a blood test if you test positive on hpt, unless you really want to come.  They feel that the tests are pretty accurate on positives, I would call and schedule that first appt., and take prenatals if you aren't already!
