the mini pill?

I was on the mini pill last year after my daughter was born but it gave me my period twice a month after I started taking it. I stopped taking it and a few months later, I got pregnant and I had another daughter in August. I am breast feeding again so the doctor prescribed me the mini pill again. I told him the last time I took it how I had my period twice a month and it made me miserable because of that, he told me I probably wouldn't get my period for a few months. well i've been taking the mini pill for almost 2wks and I got my period 3 days ago. I'm just wondering if the same thing will happen. and if any of you experienced something like this.
Also, if I take the mini pill the same time everyday religiously should I still use condoms or is that 99% effective birth control? I don't wanna have another baby right now I have my hands full.

Are you breastfeeding???  I have taken the mini pill after my last 3 kids.  My doc only prescribes that for me when I am breastfeeding.  He always says that I need a different pill once I stop nursing.  And the mini pill made me bleed all the time this last time around.  I'd only stop bleeding for 3 or 4 days and then start bleeding full force all over again.  It was awful.  I stopped taking it before I stopped breastfeeding this last time.  I just couldn't take it.  I now do Natural Family Planning.  If you aren't breastfeeding, you may want to get a different pill.

did your friend make sure she took her pill at the same time everyday? My doctor said its possible to get pregnant if you are even 2hrs late taking your pill one day.
I've been taking my pill the same time everyday and to prevent having another bundle of joy the week I ovulate we will use additional protection.
