Hello, I have been looking on line for a few days now. I had my tubes tied 8 years ago. I recently missed my period, been sick to my stomach and throwing up. I also have cramps which feel like Im getting my period and nothing. I also saw a few tiny spots (maybe 4) of blood on panties. Nothing major though. I have four children and I actually do wish to be pregnant. Can anyone help! lol
If the tubes were tied 8 years back, then chances of pregnancy are less. However, do take a blood HCG test.
This should be done 48 hours apart. A doubling level indicates pregnancy, a falling level miscarriage. If the levels are negative the first time, the second test need not be done. In this case the cause of missed periods needs to be found out such as ectopics (can give negative urine/HCG tests and possible after tubal ligation), stress whether emotional or physical, hypothyroidism, polycystic disease of the ovary, pituitary tumors secreting prolactin, anemia and poor diet, hormonal imbalance, unexplained or sudden weight gain or weight loss. You will need to consult a gynecologist for this. Take care!
