Getting the tubes reconstructed after tubal ligation is not a slam dunk, it can be a costly and painful process.  But don't let it worry you that one ovary is not enough, because it is.  If someone has two ovaries, they alternate and ovulate one the first month, the other the next month, and so on.  But if a woman loses an ovary, the one that is left will ovulate every month.  The egg pops out into the abdomen and is found (you hope) by the fimbria at the end of the tube, and it has been shown that an egg from one side can sometimes be caught by the end of the tube on the other side.

I had my tubes untied 12 years ago, the right tube closed up shortly after, there for making that side unable to work.  I tried for 5 years to get pregnant, taking shots and IUI with no luck. Now that I am 39,I find myself 23 weeks along with a healthy baby boy!!  So it can happen but, It was very costly and painful!!!  but worth it. best of luck!! Julie
