Hi sorry if this was posted but I was having trouble last night connecting to site, Anyway thanks PRISHA for your comment that is good to know. But for others here is my question, I myself am 19 weeks and 5 days, a great friend of mine had her ultrasound done recently and she said everything looked great with the baby, except the tech was having a hard time finding the right kidney, the left one look good. I told her I would ask this wonderful site that I go on, if anyone out there has had a child born with one kidney or know of someone and if so what was the outcome. The tech did say it could be underdeveloped or just having a hard time finding it (she said the baby was active) or it may only have one kidney, They told her not to worry, So any info would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks everyone.
I have been on one kidney since birth. I do have the other one, but it did not develop and so it is very small and does not function. So for all practical purposes, I am on one kidney. Please let your friend know that I leadLead poisoning a perfectly normalNormal saline flush life. Infact, I did not know I was on one kidney until I was 21 and was in an accident! Hope that helps.
I found out last yr I have only 1 kidney. This was because during my ectopicEctopic pregnancy surgery they could not find it and also in the untrasounds. I am going onto 31 this yr, had no problems till yet. I know someone who is in his 50s with 1 kidney, no problems. I don't think there should be anything to worry about unless you have some problems.
Thanks everyone for your imput, she is actually going in for a more detailed songram. She has heard from others also that as long as you have one good kidney, a normalNormal saline flush life can be had. It is just good to know for future if the child gets sick or needs surgery.
Thanks again everyone
