what to expect after ablation surgery

On February 18th I had ablation surgery.  On March 9th I ended up in the ER with uncontrollable bleeding.  I was put on hormones for the time being.  I quit taking them on March 14th.  Still bleeding,,it's not uncontrollable.  I'm not so sure this surgery worked for me.  I have alot of pain still.  And have been having a period since Christmas.  Does this sound familiar to anyone?

I too had ablation in mid Dec. I had some light discharge for several weeks and now.... nothing.... so wonderful!
I am so happy to be rid of the 21 day heavy, heavy cycles with one week off and then 21 days again. It wore  me out, physically and mentally.
I am SO very sorry for you.
And yes, do get another opinion from a different dr.
If you did not have your hormone levels checked you should NOT have been given any hormones. They can make things much worse if the dr just gives them to you without lab work results which tell what you need ( and this is from my own personal experience!!!! It happened to me!!!!)
Good luck to you!!

Ok,, what a difference 24 hours can make.  Today,, I'm wearing a panty liner,,, what's up with that?

I did consult with my primary Dr,,,, He seems to agree with me that the hormones I was on did me no favors.  I saw him today,,,,

I'm still getting cramping.  Not as bad.  My dr suggested 3, 200 mg ibuprofens if my stomach can handle it.  Today is the first day I woke up without cramps.  And I slept through the night.

On monday,,when chatting with my primary,, he suggested that I might need a hysterectomy.  And this is what the ob/gyn said the week before.  But today,,,since my bleeding is like nothing,,, it's going to be a "wait & see" situation now.

Your's is the story that I've heard from the majority of women around me who've had ablation.  I've been told that I fell into that small percentage of women who've had complications.  Hmmm go figure.  I got the "short straw" as they say.

I will say,, the longer I'm off of the hormones,, the more mentally clear I feel.  The more positive about this too.

I wish I had a crystal ball,,, to let me know if I'm just postponing something I should deal with or not.  Hmmmm,, the human body,, is soooo unpredictable,,

I re-read my original post,, I made an error there, I stated that my last day of hormones was the 14th,, no,, it was the 21st,, I looked in error at my calander while I was typing my post.

I had ablation surgery two years ago and had a little bleeding for 5 days.  Ever since I had that op. I never had any discomfort or bleeding what-so-ever.  I really think you must go for a second opinion - I feel so sorry for you, but that does'nt sound right.  I have no complications at all.
