Vibrating, Tingling, Numbness Anyone

Hi Everyone:

I'm 48 and am in peri now.  When my periods became irregular, I started having a lot of tingling, vibrating, twitching, numbness, etc going on.  I'm also posting in the MS forum because quite frankly, I'm pretty scared about all this.

I'm wondering if anyone has experienced this is if so, did it get better with time?

I just started wearing an Estradioal patch on Friday for estrogen.

I'm also having a TON of anxiety about all of these strange symptoms going on in my body...a vicious cycle I know.

I too have the numbness, weakness, tingling.
I've seen a Rhuematologist, Neurologist, Allergist, Cardiologist (currently seeing one), Gastroenterologist.

Very very strange symptoms.  No-one has been able to tell me what is going on.  The Rhuematologist said she thinks it is "autoimmune related", but now I am wondering if I am in perimenapause too.  I will be 42 in December.

I hope you find some answers.  In the meantime, you should follow up with a nuerologist so they can run some test to put your mind at ease.  They should do an MRI of brain and spine as well as a EMG/NC (nerve conduction) test.  Those should rule out MS.

Hugs,

Susan

I have all of the same symptoms in addition to others. I have been to a Neurologist, Rheumatologist, Cardiologist, etc... . I have PVCs and have also been diagnosed with Raynauds. Otherwise, nobody can find a thing wrong with me. Even though my Obgyn says I am no where near menopause, I tend to assume that's what it is. It's hard to believe All of these symptoms could just be Menopause though. I'm wondering if changing hormone levels have triggered something that was just waiting to happen.

Carrie,
Perimenpause can cause a lot of very wierd symptoms . For me it includes anxiety, tingling, numbness, muscle pain and twitching as well as tachycarida, heart palps, insomnia, internal vibrations,  nausea at times, the list goes on and on...
It is great idea to have your hormones checked by and expert in the area of antiaging dr or gyn hormone specialist.
If you are estrogen dominant ( as I was) and given estrogen it makes your issues much worse.
Perimenopause is a very difficult time for some women. We are all different and no one goes thru this time the same, for some it is very difficult, others a breeze....
There is a great website called powersurge.com. It is all about peri and menopause issues and all the things that go along with them. It has really helped me feel like I am not alone..... or crazy... or dying from a strange unknown disease.
Good luck and god bless.
