Sharp sudden radiating pain, left back of head

I have started to get sharp headaches originating on the left side near where my skull and spine meet. They radiate to my left eye. Typically this lasts for just a few seconds and will go away. They occur in the evening right before I fall asleep or while reading. I will normally only experience one a day, and sometimes go several weeks between onset of headache. Originally I thought this may be due to dehydration, but is it something I need to see someone about?

Hi and welcome to the Migraines & Headaches Community.

I would recommend a doctor visit. It could be migraines but I would want to rule any other diagnosis out.
