With reluctance I would suggest considering Jefferson Headache Center in Philadelphia. Given the number of concussions you suggested, you may need some really heavy hitters to get this under control.
I don't know of any in ny, but someone else might. There must be a good one in NY. My neurologist who also has a PhD. is in Michigan. You must get a referral from another doctor. They review the letter, and then schedule your appointment, but my doctor takes about 4 months to get to see. There's also a headache specialist in the same pain clinic which takes 8 months to see.
So ask around to those around you in NY. Someone must know of one.
Good luck.
thank you so much for your helped it did helped a lot your answer i been trying to get answers or opinion but no help , im willing to search for the best neurologist in the US and go to any state so they can help me get rid of this pain, im currently in ny if you have any suggestion please i will appreciated.

Hi Katie,
So sorry to hear that. I do hope that you have seen at least two different neurologists, because you deserve far better treatment than just Toprol.
There are many other treatments which could help you. It seems most people who have bad migraines don't have an answer from an MRI or CT scan which I hope that you have had. But that doesn't mean that you can't get more treatments to help you. Haven't the doctors suggested anything else for you?
Other treatments include nerve block injections and Botox injections which have both helped me a lot. Also others are helped by accupuncture, massage, biofeedback, and physical therapy.
Also there are two medications that do not go into your blood stream to cause further rebound headaches the way pain killers do. There's a skin ointment (by prescription) that I put where the headache is on the front of my face. This helps the milder to moderate migraines. And getting them early usually prevents the more serious ones. Also I take a lidoderm nasal liquid only when the migraines start to get severe, since it is very unpleasant, but it works.
I'm sure there are other meds and treatments that could help you. I also take an herbal medication, Petadolex, that helped me where none of the usual prophylactic meds worked.
They helped someone like me who had severe to moderate migraines every day and it was caused by my stroke--both conditions make it very difficult to treat. If they can help me, they can help you. I've seen 5 different neurologists. The first one was an idiot--only prescribing me pain killers which kept me in a perpetual loop of migraines. You do deserve so much better.
Let me know whether you have seen more than one neurologist and what other treatments were suggested for you. Take care.
Sara
I have had this problem for about 3yrs now and have seen many doctors but none can seem to find an answer why and it just keeps getting worse and worse every day
You don't mention having seeing a doctor or how long you have had this problem? If you did see a doctor, what did they say? If not, see a doctor ASAP.
