Starting today, I am having sharp stabbing pains in the back of my head. This is occuring on the right side, somewhat behind my ear. Its like a throb but not continuous. For the past week, I have been having sharp shooting pains on the outer portion of my ear, in the cartilage area. Over the past few years, I have had this pain, but its usually once and then goes away, and won't recur for weeks to months later. However, this past week, it has been happening almost daily. Doesn't hurt to touch necessarily tho sometimes I can find a tender spot on the cartilage. I wonder if the head pain I am having now is related to the ear pain, or if its a separate issue? I have some health issues, being diagnosed with mixed connective tissue disease (namely lupus, CREST, thyroiditis) some years ago, and have chronic fibromyalgia, and am also being treated for GERD.
Thank you for any advice you can provide.
