d&c tomorrow sad times!

i delivered my baby girl at 18 weeks.. a week before her delivery everything was fine, i went for a scan and they found so many problems with her it was just not possible for her to survive! she was born on the 20th of december 2009 , she had a hypo-plastic left heart, cyctic hygroma, bright bowel and her chambers in her heart had nt formed properly .she also had turners-syndrome..  
i found out i was pregnant again on the 28 th of sept after ttc for 7 month today i found out the pregnancy sac is empty and i have to go for a surgical vaccuation on thursday (21st oct 10). i just cant believe lightning would strike twice why me? i have a healthy 3 year old boy who keeps me going and a very supportive husband
after my d and c how long til i can go to work im a carer and do alot of lifting, what about sex?? how long will i bleed?

After a d&c it is recommended that you take it easy for a week as far as resting.  You typically bleed for two weeks and are suppose to not have sex until after the two weeks are over.  Normally, it takes that amount of time for all of the HCG to filter out of your body.  So, during those two weeks you would probably have a positive pregnancy test even though you are not pregnant anymore.  It is also recommended that you wait 3 cycles before trying to get pregnant again because the lining of your uterus is scraped so thin during the procedure, though not proven my doctor believed this could cause another miscarriage.  Although, I have heard tons of success stories of women who didn't wait here on medhelp.

I personally had my first pregnancy end in miscarriage.  I went in for my 12 week ultrasound and found no heart beat.  I followed doctors orders after my d&c and concieved my son 3 months later.  Had a healthy pregnancy and he is now 13 weeks old.

Sorry for your loss. I was an animal control officer and after my d and c I waited another two weeks to lift and then it was nothing over 20lbs. Use your best judgement. As for going back to work it depends on you mentally and physically. I was back after a week. Sex is something I waited for the doctor to give the green light. I bled only a couple of days then it was over. The doctor gave us the green light after two weeks and said we could try after the first period. I hope this helps.

I'm so sorry.  I have asked the "why" question many times. About the d&c, after I had one with my first m/c I only bled a few days and it wasn't that much at all.  I don't know about lifting becasue that wasn't something I usually did anyways.  I went back to him for my follow up two weeks after d&c and he said all was good and I could go on normally.  After mine, I didn't hurt or anything.  He did tell me to use protection for 3 cycles to make sure that my uterine lining was thick and healthy before trying to conceive again, but i don't think you have to, really.  I got my normal period 6 weeks after my d&c.  Again I'm really sorry.

hello thankyou all for your comments the d&c went well today i got a letter off them and it says no intercourse til i stop bleeding! im hardly bleeding now and its only been 10 hours since the op im in no real pain ither although im topped up after the morphine wore off. i ve decided to take a week off work and see how things go, i ve decided not to go on contraception either as i dont want to get it in my system im gonna let nature take its course as it took 7 month to concieve after loosing baby jackson the 1st time.

Sorry you are going through this again.  I couldn't think about anything but TTC for a long while after my D&C.  It is really hard when you know you can't.  I spent a lot of time on this site sharing my story and trying to help others and that makes it easier a bit.  I hope the time goes fast for you and you have success soon.

I just had my D&C yesterday after my mc. Its really sad time. I still cant believe, that this happened to us...I dont have any more tears to cry...Just sad, angry, unhappy..
It was  my first pregnancy. We went in for 12 week ultrasound and found no heart beat, baby stoped development at 7 weeks. We was in shock...I choosen D&C, because I havent bleed at all and I couldnt coupe with this anymore, I just wanted to finish everything. I caried my died baby for 5 weeks...
But we need to move on, we still young and doctors said, we still got plenty of chance to have healthy baby ( I hope so much)...He said TTC when we will be ready.
I still didnt have any bleeding, they said its can take to 14 days to start, just a little bit of pain, but no more as period pain.
I am really sorry for all your looses, i understand how you feeling, i feeling the same...we need to be strong...take care xx
