retained products or normal?

so as many of you know i had been diagnosed with a blighted ovum (placenta was normal size ~ 9 weeks and gest sac about 8 weeks) finally miscarried friday night... horrible cramps and passed some what i thought was products of conception.. anyhow... i'm getting worried that was friday and now i'm still having cramps, though different sort of ones.. and when i cough or move too fast my pelvic area just hurts!  i threw up again this morning and i thought i was going to pass out from the pain!     i have been taking my temp and the highest so far is 99 ( i stopped taking tylenol so i could monitor it better)    is this normal? is my uterus just "sore" from everything or should i be concerned?? anyhow had this?? thanks for any advice!

As if you had not already been through enough...now more pain.  When I had my miscarriages, I felt the same kind of pain for several days after the miscarriage, but I still would notify your doctor of what you are feeling.

I think a D&C is always good after a miscarriage.  That way you can know there is no remaining tissue left to cause any infection.  Want everything to be perfect for that time when you are ready to conceive again.  My doctor made me wait two cycles before he wanted to me try to conceive.  I got pregnant about 10 1/2 weeks after my miscarriage.  I hope the same will happen to you.

God Bless you dearheart.  You and your hubby are still in my prayers.

Big Hugs,
Heather

ugh, i'm so worried now.. so i finally got a dr apt, well bloodwork, for tomorrow morning (friday) to get a beta.. my belly pain is gone, all cramps gone, finally started feeling like a "normal" person for a little while, bloating went down finally.. then i started feeling horrible tonight.. achy all over my body and chills, temp went up to 100,,(but it felt so much higher!) so took tylenol and its still 99.3 while on the tylenol.. i have a bit of a scratchy throat so praying its not related to the mc ( i would think i would have MORE pelvic pain with that, but it seems to be getting better) i hope its just a coincedence and its a virus or something , though i'm never sick! but i'm sure the stress of all this would make my immune system low.. anyhow worried, scared ill have to get a D&C for inrfected retained products!

i agree, call your doctor...exaggerate your temp. if you need to in order to be seen...just to get some non-anecdotal answers. have you had your hCG levels monitored? that will tell you to a certain degree what's left inside. you may also want to have an internal exam and an u/s to sure you've passed everything.......all i can share is that i was cramping the day before and the day after i went through the biggest part of my miscarriage. it was in two phases: 1. milder cramping + large amounts of fluid/blood/clots. 2. tremendous pain/vomitting + less blood, larger clots. this happened over the course of two days. as for time, my miscarriage began three weeks ago and just this afternoon after days of just minor spotting, i passed a large clot......so maybe it just takes a long time. having said that: i'm going in to my doc. tomorrow for hCG testing and an u/s on thursday to make sure it's really over....i myself am really looking forward to this being over so i can really move on...i'm sure you feel the same, so get some expert attention!

my heart goes out to you.
