will this end in miscarriage

Hi! I went for my 9 week ultrasound yesterday and the baby measured only 7 weeks 5 days, a very slow heartbeat was detected but wasn't able to hear it with the Doppler.  I have to other healthy babies via c-section and have a lot of scar tissue, could this be a reason that the heart was not visible or dates be wrong? I am so concerned and worried.  Any advice is greatly appreciated.  Dr. said that because they saw a heartbeat that is a good sign, but is concerned the heartbeat was so slow.  He did not say how slow?

Thank you so much- My Dr. called me and said that from the last ultrasound there was no more heartbeat and will schedule me for a D&C.  I will be going back on Monday, for one last ultrasound and then be scheduled.  I should have been 9 weeks from my LMP, but the baby at that time only measured 7 weeks and 5 days.  At the first ultrasound there was a slow heartbeat and the second one done the same day, he said the Tech did not find any heartbeat at all.  Thank you again for all your kind words-

A hearbeat is not typically heard on doppler until at least 10 weeks, so don't worry too much about that. Many times it takes even longer then that. At 7 weeks I am quite surprised your Dr. would even try a doppler.  Seeing a heartbeat on u/s is a good sign.  When it is slow like that, it can go either way. I know that is hard to hear, but it is a wait and see situation.  As for dating, all Dr.'s begin counting from the first day of your last menstrual period.  That is how they measure on ultrasound.  So if they tell you you are measuring 7 weeks, that should be 7 weeks from the first day of last menstrual period.  It is not uncommon for women to get their dates wrong, so now they will measure growth in between ultrasounds.  I am sorry you are going through such a stressful time.  I have been through it myself a few times and I do understand how difficult the wait and see is.  I would imagine your Dr. will do another ultrasound in a week or two. Good luck to you.

Wishing628, same thing happend to me back in June and I found out at 11 weeks baby stopped at 8 weeks.  4 months later I am 6 weeks pregnant and scared to death :)
Heartbeat is for sure a good sign.  I am always confused about my dates these sites except this one, say I am farther along them I am because they count from date of your last period.  But, most doctors will go off when you conceived which is usually two weeks later.  So,  most sites say I am 8 weeks but I am 6.  Maybe that is why you are two weeks off?

as long as you can har heart beat i would say that is a good sign, when we wnt for our u/s i was 9 1/2 wks preg, no heart beat and baby only grew 8 wks 2 days. maybe you have your dates wrong with periods and thats why the baby is smaller do you think? but heart beat is a good sign hun :O)
