Does anyone feel symptoms occasionally on both sides of body?

For those that have been dx with MS - is it possible to have issues occur on both sides of your body? My problems generally occur on my right side - facial numbness, blurred vision, weakness, headaches, but on rare occasions, I feel something like an electric shock on the outer side of my left leg. Also, sometimes the facial numbness crosses over slightly to the left side (just past my nose), but is mostly on my right.

Just wondering if folks experience symptoms on both sides or whether MS is always isolated to one side of the body.

Thanks for your input!

I have had ms symptons for over 4 years now, so far 3 mri's have been clear, negative L.P.
Last mri was on 3T, and I had brain, cervical, and thor (other one) done. All clear.
The tingling that I get in both feet is identical, as well as in my hands.
My tingling is bilateral, the face pain I had 4 years ago was also bilateral.

I have paraesthesia on both sides its symmetrical in my hands and my feet It may not be exactly symmetrical in the rest of my body I don't pay enough attention to some of the stuff. I have only had ON in my left eye, nothing in my right yet.

That's interesting. I have numb / tingling in both arms so maybe that's a tick for me in the NOT MS box!

Thanks for clearing that one up. I also have problems on both sides but they do differ.

Hi,

I have MS, and I also have symptoms on both sides of my body.  For example, I have weakness in both legs, but primarily my left side.
I think what you have described would fit in with typical MS type of symptoms.

Hi. It is rather rare for a particular MS symptom to be symmetrical, that is, the same symptom in exactly the same places on both sides of the body at the same time. So I think that is what may be confusing you.

It is entirely normal to have different symptoms on each side of the body at the same time or at different times. So what you are describing is very consistent with MS.
