BG-12 Drug is on the fast track!!!

I read about it in the Motivator of the American MS Soceity out of Cherry Hills, NJ.  Apparently the FDA has put it on a fast track and it is in Phase III trials but go to clinicaltrials.gov to confirm this info.  It reduces Gd+ lesions or galadium enhanced lesions by 69% and it is an ORAL medication.  It is thought to have a neuroprotective (yeah!) as well as an antiinflammatory effect.  It is now being tried on RRMS but who knows.... Something that is neuroprotective cannot be too fussy about arbitrary categories established by human beings.  Can it?  Keep hoping y'all!  - keep hoping.

I'll just be happy when they can tell me what to poke, jab, or stick myself with, or what to swallow -- or not.  Well, happier.

Hi Irene,
There are quite a few of us here, in fact probably all of us, just waiting for the approval of an oral drug, any oral drug, to take the place of our injections.  I think we may see one by the end of this year, but that may just be my wishful thinking.

Until then we will continue to poke and jab ourselves - you really do get used to doing it as part of a routine.

Very hopeful,
Lulu
