AWESOME!
I'll be waiting to hear the results, too. You deserve to go off to the lake with some answers and a big smile on your face. Hey, your brave letter-writing is what inspired me to write a request for the particular neuro-radiologist to read my MRI! You're like, a way cool role model! :o)
Sending you hugs,
Kathy
I MAILED THE LETTERS TODAY!!! Now we just sit and wait until next Thursday when I see the Opthalmologist and what he has to say...I do have butterflies but I think it was the best and only thing left for me to do. Thanks again Quix and you will be the first to know after me...what the results are ok?
Rena
DON'T GET ME WRONG...I LOVED THOSE LINES THE BEST BUT YOU HAVE TO DRAW THE LINE SOMEWHERE DON'T YOU? Someday maybe the planets will all line up in my favor and I will be able to say what I want to each of them but in the meantime I can give them NO reason to rain on my parade can i? Oh Well!
Rena
Hey Sweetie, glad thank you are going to send the letter off. It is brilliantly written and very professional looking. I don't think you are going to have a hard time with the Dr on this.
Hey Wonko-I loved the Evil Neuro and Lying GP line too :)
Love Ya Girl,
Ada
"I just replaced the last sentence in the second paragraph as well as the "Evil Neuro and Lying GP""
What??? That was the best part!!!!
Just kidding. Let us know when they are in the mail, and don't back down.
I sure appreciate the support you have all shown in my situation. I have done the letter as per Quix post and I just replaced the last sentence in the second paragraph as well as the "Evil Neuro and Lying GP". I have put the letters in envelopes, addressed them and attached the appropriate postage and I will mail them tomorrow if I feel up to going out. If I can't, my hubby will drop them in a post box on his way to work for me and then we will see what happens. I am not that optomistic to me honest with you...I think it will take more to get through to these two than this but this is a start right? I will keep you up to date as to what is happening and if I hear from anyone after mailing them.
Thanks again Quix for your wonderful assistance and you will be the 1st to know if I get any results from my (oops, I mean your) letters. tee hee
Lots of Hugs,
Rena
Wow, I don't know how you have kept your cool with your GP this long. I am not dx, but have many eye problems too and I know how scary that is.
Good luck with the optho, I'll be praying that he will give you the answers you need.
Don't you just love Quix and her way with words....ha....ha.....ha.....

p.s.
You can borrow the pic of my fish anytime...lol Who needs nets? Cowboy? Tell him yours require gafs!
THIS ROCKS!
Demands - ACTION - ACTION - ACTION
So not a cheerleader, but this deserves all of us standing on the sidelines, while Rena struts her stuff (yea, guys too) through the middle w/this golden letter in hand diplomatically putting her big thumb on them all!

I'm glad it gave you a chuckle. You might want to change a few things. One that I would change would be the last line in the 2nd paragraph. Change it to, " Because it is "inactive," she will not prescribe any of the MS drugs."
I guess you should probably use everyone's real name. It does remove some of the sting of the letter, tho... :))
Quix
I LOVE your idea...it is on the burner now and I will make a decision about it tomorrow. I agree that I don't have anything to lose by doing it and maybe it will make them realize that they had better cover their backsides or else eh? I have to tell you Quix that this has given me the biggest laugh I have had in a long time and you truly made my day by offering this solution to me. I will let you know my final decision by tomorrow ok?
p.s. as much as I like to call em' as I see em' I agree that lying doc may have to be changed as well as "Evil Neuro" but they are sweet are they not?
Lots of thanks,
Rena
As usual, you are right on the money. I think all Rena needs to do is copy, paste, insert names and dates, and click 'send'.
I believe this approach is VERY effective. I have not needed to use it in my own personal medical situation (yet!), but I use it all the time in business, and it absolutely gets results every time. It's putting people on notice, while not allowing them reason to get their backs up. A surefire way to have your concerns taken seriously while at the same time, exposing those who are the very reason for those concerns.

ps to Rena: I wonder if your doc would take offence to you cc'ing her as "Lying GP"?? Hmmm, on second thought, better use her real name. lol
You've been through the wringer again ans again. Whatever it takes, I hope you get some answers soon...and no more bull droppings

Ha ha ha!!! Yes, the "dirty, little secret" that your neuro and your GP have had going with you may be exposed. THAT will certainly prod someone who hasn't been doing their job into action. I call it "Death by 'CC'". Whenever I am calling someone down who has done wrong or who isn't doing their job, I carefully detail the whole thing in a letter to them. This letter may be angry or it may just reteel what has gone on.
Then, at the bottom, I "CC" the letter to someone else. In this case it might be to your ophthalmologist. Suddenly, the secret is out in the open. "Caught with their pants down," you might say. This makes people jump. That's what telling your GP that you are seeing the Eye guy did. As long as you try to deal with the people doing the harm you get nowhere. But, bringing the problem to light and the scrutiny of others, really terrifies them.
You might even do something like this. Write to the Ophthalmologist and detail what has gone on for the last 8 months. Do it innocently as if you didn't realize that anything was wrong, but that you were frustrated.

Dear Doctor Shizzlebaum (Eye Guy),
I hope you can help me. My physicians and I are very frustrasted. As you know I received a diagnosis of MS in XXX. In the last year I have had increasing problems with (list the various problems) Recently I am having frightening problems with my eyesight and am very scared that my loss of vision will be permanent. That's why I am seeing you on XXX.
I have had so many increased symptoms in the last year. These symptoms come in attacks that eventually improve, but each time I have more residual symptoms to add to what I deal with everyday. I fear these symptoms are from the MS. If they are I pray there is something that could be done to slow down the disease, like being able to qualify for one of the Disease Modifying Drugs. My neurologist tells me that because there is no enhancement on my MRI last (date), that my MS is "inactive." Because it is inactive, I do not qualify for any of the MS drugs.
We have done many tests to see what else could be causing these attacks, since my neurologist doesn't believe that they are from the MS. All the tests are negative.
I hope you will be able to find what is causing me to lose my ability to see clearly. I already have MS. I guess I need to know what else is causing my eye problems, the pain I have daily and my recent difficulty walking since my neurologist has told me and my GP that my MS is inactive.
I will be seeing you soon and hope you can help me find some way to slow down these symptoms.
Sincerely,
Rena XXX

This is just a thought. But, if you write it without anger, and from the innocent standpoint of fear and desperation, it might get some action from the neurologist. I can't see how it would make your situation worse.
I don't know. This technique has always worked for me.
Quix
well, today sounds like it was a so called sucessfull day for you...so far with the Dr anyway...
your right, now just keep on top of CPP..and the GP... I know it's a hassell?? but, no one will do it except for you...right...
so hang in there...and better luck next time with the fishing...hehehehe

Rena,
You will be in my thoughts and prayers. You have had a horribly difficult time. I guess we have to wait patiently till June 26. Take care and know you have support from all of us.
Elaine
Hey Sweetie, I wish I could of seen her face when you told her you were going to the opthamologist, I am wondering if a retraction is on her mind? A big apology? Well, I hope she will get the paperwork filled out quickly for you so you will have one less thing to worry about.
I want to write more but my brain is all mushy and I am exhausted. I just wanted you to know I read your post Sweetie, I will write more to ya later, Sweetie.
Love Ya,
Ada
