Leg muscles jumping

Okay, first I am a short person 5'. I have been noticing lately that often times, while driving I will get jumping movements in my right leg. My leg and foot are extended to reach the gas pedal. It doesnt hurt when this happens. I just notice that my leg is trembling or jumpy. Is this clonus? Simple muscle fatigue. Doesnt have to be a long drive or extended period of driving for it to occur.

Yes, had Vit D tested and it was low. Take VIt D high dose daily. I can guess that if this 'muscle jumping' would continue it would indeed become painful. I am well acquainted with muscular pain. Just trying to figure out if this is what is called 'clonus'. For now, I have been able to stop driving, put my foot flat down (rather than extended to the pedal) and it will clear. It will also come back shortly. My concern (projection) is what if i couldnt stop/control it even temporarily. I guess your post cleared that up.

I am mentally exhausted from so much time trying to figure out what are my MS symptoms. Seems that there are no definitive answers. Last night, i was wishing that someone would print out a checklist and the Drs would mark off the things that are your symptoms. So many things have gone on for such a long time, and when for whatever reason it comes up in discussion.....find myself shocked that what I think is 'normal' is not normal for other people, without MS.

Seems when I go to Drs with a list of questions that weird symptoms always fall in to the "could be" MS. column. Guess I am wanting definitive answers. Guess I need to stop that.

Thanks for your reply!

I am not sure if you are getting something similar to what I had just prior to my diagnosis because mine actually was painful. But I was getting HORRENDOUS muscle spasms or Charley horses I guess you would say and I was getting them while I was driving. My gets would get all tight and one time while I was driving it was so bad that my leg bent and I couldn't get the gas while making a turn and almost got broad-sided. I ended up having to pull off into the median. I called my doctor (because he initially thought it was my potassium) and they sent me for labs and had my Vitamin D levels checked and they were ridiculously low.

I am wonder if you know, what are your vitamin D levels?
