Neurology

I had an MRI done of my brain back in 2010 and report stated that there is a single small punctuate area of a singal abnormality in the left perventricular white matter of the frontal lobe, nonspecific finding and most frequently seen as sequela of early microvascular ischemic disease, can someone please tell me what this means?

Hi PaulineD,

Welcome. What sent you to the doc for the imaging?
Sure can't tell you what that single means in terms of what you are going through. Lesions oftentimes don't equate to symptoms. Not all lesions are MS. Like your report states, the most frequently they see w/your type of lesino relates to possible ischemic, but the doc has to take the investigation further to identify the tru culprit.
Tell us a bit more if you are comfortable to do so.
