Checking In :)

Hi Guys! I hope everybody is doing good. I'm doing OK...Hanging in there. My hubby is getting unemployment now. Even though it's not much to live off of, I think we will do fine. I'm pretty good with money. It's nice having hubby home with me. As a joke, I tell him that I'm the boss and he works for me now. I also tell him the pay is really bad, but the benefits are really, really great (wink, wink).

I got on medicaid so I was really relieved once that went through. We decided not to go with the COBRA because of the cost. It was just going to take too much money to have and we can't do that right now. I was happy when I found out that the Caresource/medicaid plan that I'll be switch to next month is accepted by most of my important doctors..so no switching docs..Yeah!!!

I went to my PCP today. (by the way..She is so wonderful..I love her to death). She wrote me a script for a handicap placard for driving, and for a cane. If it's a plan cane, I plan on decorating it the first chance I get! She also referred me to a good opthamologist for my ongoing eye issues (double vision /eye muscle weakness). We discussed a lot about my health problems and the fact that there is no name to what is going on.  Dr. H said she believes it still could be MS and that I'm just showing symptoms before I show evidence. I told her that some doctors don't feel that MS is likely and she rolled her eyes.

On an unrelated note...I also got a referral to go see a oncologist breast surgeon. I've had issues with my breast for 3 years now...( Sometimes I think my body is falling apart and I need to take it in on a recall....Was there a recall on me and nobody told me about it?). Well anyways, I've been having pain/burning from my right breast again.

Back in 2006, I went through a number of test that revealed nothing except, inflamed/enlarged duct. The doctors chopped it up to an old infection, but of course I have my doubts about that because the discharge has been ongoing for 3 years. I doubt the DX because I've been on antibiotics, and I would still have an infection for 3 years?

In 2006, I went to a breast/oncologist. He was concern about the color that was coming from the duct and said that if it continued he would remove it. Before he could do so, he left state, moving his practice. I've had other doctors not care about the fact that I have a discharge from my breast, but I do. They say it's a gland and sometimes it's normal. Ok..that maybe the case..but I'm not on hormones (I've had a partial hysterectomy..I have one ovary now). I'm not on any medication that would cause this. There is no cyst that is causing this. My pituitary levels are fine along with thyroid...so what else could this be???

So anyways I'm getting things look at, and getting things done, and putting hubby to work doing things he's promised to do for years and never had the time. He calls it his honey-do-list (honey do this, honey do that). LOL

Love Ya All

Hey,

Sorry to hear that your feeling worse. It seems like I've not gotten better, but have not been getting any worse since October. Don't get me wrong. I have symptoms everyday. It just seems like I have not had a major episode since October.

I'm not too worried about the breast issue. It's more of a nuisance than anything. I really hope they come up with an answer this time on this issue because it is very painful. The color is disturbing too.

The other doctor did want to remove the duct that was doing it but never really got a chance. Since it has been occuring for 3 years you would think someone would do something by now or suggest something.

My PCP said that they have came a long way in the last 4 years and might be able to wash the cells out of the duct to see if there is anything bad going on in there.

That's so great! How have you been..besides getting worn out from running? LOL  Those 3T pics are great compared to the 1.5T. I looked at Missy's pics that she had posted. They are so clear!

I hope you do get some answers soon too. We all need something to go on for a change.

Hi, I'm glad to see that things are going pretty well for you.  Except the breast thing, of course.  It sounds like your PCP is awesome; I have a really great one, too.

I'm so tired, I can't think of anything else to say.  I spent hours at OHSU, getting 3T MRIs of my brain, C and T spine, then waited over an hour for them to print out the CD, then after I drove home, I spent a long time figuring out the software and viewing my pictures.

The brain MRI is a lot clearer than my ones from a year ago on a 1.5, and it looks like I've gotten more and bigger lesions.  I'll have to wait for the report, though.  Especially for the spinal MRIs; they were dark and difficult to read.  I'll mess around tomorrow and see if I can adjust things to see more clearly, and figure out if I can post a picture of my brain.

I'm sure you'll get a 3T MRI someday; didn't mean to make you jealous, :o).

I'm glad you'll be able to see your doctors with your new insurance, that is so cool!

I think it's time for me to go to bed; I'm worn out.

be well,

Kathy
