I hope you're not having side effects! I'm having headaches, but when I read the literature and did some research, this is not common. I've had headaches for a long time, so I think it's probably caused from the stress of being diagnosed and starting a new medicine.
One time I had a reaction that was peculiar. My face turned bright red and my ears burned, but was gone after about 30 minutes or so. I didn't have trouble breathing or anything major like that. I told my neuro, and he said it was probably because I shot the medicine in my blood stream by accident. I shoot my medicine now at a 45 degree angle instead of straight in, and I'm doing better.

Wow, you took yourself off. I know I have the option of not taking Avonex, but I am afraid of what might happen if I don't. I was dx'd in February.
I am not tolerating the side effects that well. Sometimes I wonder if it is the Avonex or the MS.

Hi Ali. I can tell you my experience with Copaxone. I was just diagnosed in Dec of 07. I haven't been on any other MS med. I was put on Copaxone. In those 3 months I struggled with depression, sleeplessness, gained 10 lbs and had terrible dark circles under my eyes. It completely changed my personality. I took myself off it and finally after 2 weeks am starting to feel like myself again and have dropped the weight and the circles under my eyes are gone. I hope your experience on the medicine will be better. karen
HI Ali, Except for the injection site reactions, I have had no noticeable side effects from the medication itself.
Are you having side-effects?
