Could MS be related to past severe head trauma

Ok, I'm going to throw this one out there for those of you who are more familiar with MS and have been living w it for some time now. I had a rather severe head trauma when I was 5, I am now 44. I had an open wound on the entire top of my head for quite some time afterwards. Soon after I began experiencing night terrors, sleepwalking, sleep paralysis w hallucinations. The sleep paralysis continued until I was 19, the others went away in a year or two. At 32 was diagnosed w Fibro after experiencing body-wide pain, low fevers, chronic fatigue. Now 13 yrs. later docs are thinking I was misdiagnosed and have MS instead. My question is: Are there any other MS patients out there who also had a severe head injury or experienced the other symptoms ( sleep paralysis mainly). Wondering if MS can be related to head injuries at very young age. Thanks

What I've read has been pretty clear that physical trauma can 'push forward' MS that was already there. I gather this means anything from surgery to a virus to some sort of injury. This makes sense, since the immune system kicks in in all of these instances.

As to emotional trauma, or just plain severe stress, it's not so clear. Personally I think this too can be an impetus to MS, because of the mind/body connection. For these purposes, our brain activity boils down to chemicals too.

Hello,

All that I have found over these past 7 years is that severe stress or trauma in general can bring symptoms out that are underlying.

I myself did have head trauma when I was 2-years-old, falling backwards from a stroller onto sidewalk, and a hair bairette broke off into the back of my scalp.

Then into the future, 2003 at the age of 42, I was under some financial stress and at the same time had a tooth extraction, then all "everything broke loose."

So, personally I feel there is something to all of this.
