work and ms

I find myself even without a dx, in the last two months, having my job heavily affected by my lack of sleep, pain and loss of concentration/memory. My family doesn't understand and just tells me to do better keep more notes. Its so frustrating because something I was once successful at, is now a challenge for me to remember daily tasks. Tomorrow I meet with my boss to ask for a demotion so I will be able to stay with the company with less responsibility on my plate while im waiting. Anyone go through something similiar?

I am in the same boat as you both.  I have had symptoms since May and it has been very difficult working through this.  My head is very rarely clear and I too take 4x's longer to complete a simple project than I did before this started.  My tremors & shaking when I get even a little stressed out are uncontrollable.  I work for family though and they have been wonderful and supportive.  When I stopped taking on my usual work load and worked part time it really helped.

Sounds like chica you are realizing this is what you have to do right now.  I keep telling myself that when I get diagnosed I will be better able to function again and able to work full time again as we need that financially.  For now I am doing the best I can do and it sounds like so are the two of you.

Good luck with your boss today chica!

Take care!
Kristin

Are you kidding? I've been struggling for 7 months with my current 'episode' of whatever it is that I have and it has seriously affected my ability to work. I'm a teacher and have had to go part time (3 days a week) and even that is too much. I was meant to be on my class camp that I organised RIGHT NOW but I was told only yesterday that I wasn't allowed to go because they were concerned about my health.

At the moment I'm unable to get to classes on time because my legs aren't working properly - I'm walking slower than my 81 year old Nanna. I've had to resort to using a chair to get around at work and a stick for shorter distances. At home I just go slower than a snail.

I understand where you're coming from. I'm sorry to hear that you're going through a really tough time at the moment - it's horrible when your family doesn't understand. My sister suggested the other night that maybe my symptoms were being caused by nothing at all. That went down really well with me.

Anyway please share your thoughts with us and feel free to vent any time!

Mel :-)
