When I was dx'd the radiologist read the brain MRI as totally normal, but the neuro said there were a couple "small spots" (presumably too small to count towards dx). The cervical spine MRI showed three lesions and I had a positive LP with 13 o-bands.
My neuro exam apparently wasn't all that abnormal.
At my last exam (Monday), I did have trouble with that foot moving up and down the leg test, too, but my biggest problem seemed to be that I couldn't find my leg with my foot without looking. I don't know what's up with that.
I hope the MS neuro at least can figure out what all these things mean and that you are finally close to an answer.

I don't have any ideas, but I do know that you don't have to show cranial nerve abnormalities on the exam to be dx'd with MS. When I looked at my last exam results, it showed no problems with the cranial nerves (although I don't think they usually test all of them--I only ever had one neuro do the smelling test) and I am dx'd.
I hope somebody who knows more can say something about the rest of the stuff.
