Anyone else feel like when you are in the doctor's office that they are just thinking about what time their next patient is scheduled rather than REALLY listening to you?
I've been back to the doctor countless times and he just doesn't seem to want to help me out or at least give me some relief. I'm a 19 year old student working part time and am a military dependent, therefore I receive free medical care and medicine. (muhahaha). Sorry..anyways the point I'm trying to make is that going to a different doctor that is not on the military base is not within my price range, so I'm trying to tough it out with this guy.
Can anyone suggest something that I could say to this guy without insulting him or his intelligence to kind of grab his attention and make him realize that I need some relief and that I want some answers rather than a "come back in two weeks if this medicine doesn't help"? Any personal experiences with this problem? Do share!
Yes I have problems with the doctor I use and I think it is because I use to work at the clinic she works at - I never worked with her though. I think they can do one thing at a time and it seems the more I try to tell her about my symptoms - she gets a glaze over her eyes and I think to myself she is not listening to me. I like her alot but...she does more for my husband than me when I go in. hehehe. dont know why but its there. Hey, are you married to military guy? You mentioned military I have a son that just got out of airforce he went to Iraq three times. He is my hero and veteran and he is only 28. SupportSupport Support 500 our Troops! Just had to throw that out! Well, good luck with your doctor. I think I will try to get another doctor myself. What to do - What to do. Nette573
the only thing i can think of is when you make another appt is to ask for a different provider-you can change, it's your right- if you can-depending on base/clinic size. military is limited and being a dependent sometimes sucks! You may wantto ask around of other dependents and see what provider they see and/or recommend.
