Does this sound like ms?

Hi everyone! This is gunna be a long post, sorry lol. So my symptoms all started in aug 07 after I gave birth to my first baby. I had a csection and had spinal anesthesia..a few days after I started having tingling and numbness and muscle twitching everywhere. I ended up in the hospital for an abcess over my spine from the spinal injection. While at the hospital I had an mri since I was having all these symptoms. Also the dr asked me if I had my vision checked which I did and was told my optic nerve was swollen. I was told to have an mri every 6months after that but never did. A few month later I started getting an off balance dizziness that would come and go but it would last a few days at a time ..it made me feel like I was walking on a boat. Even standing still in the shower was almost impossible. It would go away over night though..never while I was awake. This eventually stopped happening. So fast forward to june 2010 I had another baby via csection with an epidural ..about 4days after I started having a lot of pvcs then while I was laying down the room started spinning for a few seconds then stopped.. After that I went to wash my face and I had the off balance feeling again except it only happened when I would walk I also felt really nauseous. This feeling lasted 2and a half months and gradually went away then one morning it was completely gone. After that from time to time id experience tingling numbness pressure and pains in my head mostly the left side and certain spots. I also had sensitivity in my left ear and pain that would come and go. I never saw a dr for this dince it wasnt constant. I gradually started feeling better ..ok so fast forward to march 23rd 2012 I had another baby.. About 6days later I started getting the imbalance feeling again except it would come and go.. Now its pretty much always there along with headaches ..pain tingling and numbness in my head. Im also nauseous almost all the time and moving.my head around seems to make it worse. When I sleep and wake up in the morning I feel even worse as far as nausea and unbalanced. There are a few times in the day that I feel normal but for the most part I feel sick. I also have tingling numbness and twitching thru out my body. I went to my GP who said it will go away and he also ordered blood tests which were normal except my triglyserides were high.. Not sure uf thats how u spell it. Also I had a catscan in the er which was normal. I was in the hospital cause I couldnt stop throwing up I also have diarrhea too which is pretty constant. Anyway I have an appt with a neurologist on thursday. Are there specific tests I should have done? & does this sound like it can be ms? Thanks in advance !

Hi, there, and Welcome!

I'm glad you're seeing your neuro.  What you're describing for your current symptoms sounds like a virus, but I think it would be wise to follow up with your neuro regarding your previous history after giving birth to your first baby.  He'll likely order another MRI, and possibly a few more tests.

Have a look at our Health Pages (links on right side of page).  They answered a huge number of questions I had when I first started lurking here in 2008!

Keep in touch, and let us know what happens. Oh, and please separate your paragraphs, as many here on the forum have vision issues.
Cheers!

I don't profess to know everything about ms, but it doesn't sound like it to me.  It doesn't really fit the profile- at least from what I know about.
It sounds like you are having some pretty severe complications to the spinal anesthesia.   I know someone else who is going through odd complications after a "spinal" last winter, he had with a hip replacement.  It's causing a lot of the symptoms you describe.  I think they need to make sure you don't have a CSF leak.  It's hard to get them to admit this can happen, but this isn't the first time I've heard of complications to this type of anesthesia.

There is a doctor forum here on medhelp too.  You could post your question there too.  Let us know what you find out.
