Quix-Quick Question

Quix, heres a quick run down, I have had leg heaviness for four years now and it has gotten worse, I also have the numbness and pins and needles sensation, I have been on a LOA from work since July and getting worse. I have spasticity in my hip and right leg despite 7 months of pt. I have gait issues and frequently fall or lose my balance. I also have been having fevers for over a month and a half. They are calling it fever of unknown origin. I also notice with the fevers my numbness and spasms gets worse. It has them baffled and have been checked for everything under the sun. I have I believe they called it hyper-reflexes on my left side and little to none on my right side.

My question is I am being sneaky and got two different neuro appts and I was wondering if I could get a MRI w/contrast and take it with me before my initial examination or will they think I am crazy? I am concerned they will think I have been trying to diagnose myself. I have a great pcp who will I know will order me one but I am sick of waiting and know if I go to the appts they will order one for me anyway and then another trip back, I thought I would save them some time.

Lots of Hugs,

Spastic Ada

I've done the same thing that Elaine describes...gone to a neuro with my MRI CD in-hand. It's fine to do. I did mention up front that I would be bringing them and that I expected the appt to include a review of them.

I am not Quix, but Craig has gone to neuros for an initial appointment and had the MRI cd's with him for the neuro to look at.  they have not objected to the PCP ordering them and it actually is a more efficient use of an appointment.

Good Luck
