I don't know about Xanax. My dad used to take it, but not for this kind of thing. I do know that anxiety can "look" the same- but only time will tell the whole story. I think they fall back on that, when they can't figure things out. -I know they did that to me. In time however, I was diagnosed. I hope you get some answers soon.

Can anyone tell me I'd the Xanax should have taken away the symptoms if they were caused from anxiety? The vibrating and tremor haven't gone away....and on top of all that now I have a migraine! Any thoughts?!?!
Sandy,
Thanks for your support as kind words :)
Luckily she is not my MS specialist. After I left I figured I should have asked why she was asking about my eye since she didn't have much else to say other than it could just be the disease or anxiety. I'm just wishing that it was just anxiety...all of it! Wishful thinking on my part land of denial is one of my favorite places to visit. ;)
I hope that you get answers soon. Even now that I have answers I still think I'm crazy. Lol

I'm sorry you're going through that. I'm not diagnosed yet and just starting the process. So, I don't have any knowledge yet. They gave me one little tiny Xanax for the MRI because I have anxiety and was really nervous. It really helped. I hate that when the doctors don't talk much. If that happens to me with this stuff, I will change doctors. Especially if I do get dx of MS. I need to be comfortable with my doctor. Maybe you can change doctors if she continues to act like that. Ask questions. Look at her and say "Well?". Let her know you need her to communicate.
So I went an saw the neurological nurse practioner today. I am not a big fan...it kind of bothers me when they exam you and don't say a thing the entire time. I was kind of put off because the only thing she asked me is if I was having visual disturbances...and I said no. She also asked if I have ever had eye problems and I told her about first having ON in 2006. Yet she failed to mention why she was asking me this. Made me wonder if she saw something in my eye or something. They ordered a brain MRI. She thinks that it could be anxiety so she prescribed a bunch of xanax or another relapse. Any thoughts? I am just feeling nutty and my memory is crap.
I was thinking along the same line as Jane, could easily be a post steroid response, it wouldn't hurt to call the neuro nurse and get her opinion over the phone than waiting till thursday. You may have a medically accepted reason for re-testing, and if you think you've failed it because of your medical issues, then its worth finding out if you can re-test or not.
Cheers........JJ
I have heard several people talking about having a hyper or manic-type reaction when receiving IVSM. That is my first thought after reading your post...
Hope you feel better soon.

I was suppose to see my neuro's nurse practitioner for my IVSM follow up Thursday, but they moved it to tomorrow.
