GP and Physio appts...

Hi again, I went to my GP last night..he was open late and I had more Vertigo spells yesterday that my hubby drove me to see him.... we talked about my spells and how bad they are.  I told him about the MS specilialst and she wanted me to try Adivan for the Vertigo...he doesn't think that will help but gave me a presc... I take clonazapam for the past few years and it didn't help..he said it kind of the same thing?  I will try it though and see if it helps.

I start my Physio this Friday...close to home... specilaises in Vertigo and balance... I'm looking forward to seeing this  guy.. my question finally is...

when you go to Physio for Vertigo or whatever... are they Drs?  do they notice things that they could inform you of and inform the Dr...MS specialist?  To help with getting a DX..?  or is this just to help with yourself...
hope you can understand what I mean.. how many ways is this helpful..for me and my Drs??

any replies would help... thanks

I went to physical therapy (is that the same as physio?) and the physical therapist wasn't a doctor, but was very helpful and observant. She noticed a lot of little things and explained them to me. For example, she explained the mystery of why I always seem to be hitting one of my feet with the other one. My ankles are weak and want to turn inward.

I also found out that my vestibular system was mostly offline and they gave me exercises to improve my balance (which weren't perfect, but they helped). So you might find out something interesting and you might improve.

I wish you could find a doctor to give you some real answers, though.

Hi Wobbly,

I really don't know if the Physio's are considered drs or not.  I'm sure they notice things that regular people or even your neuro might not notice,  I don't remember who, but someone here was talking about how much she had learned from her Physio, about her weak points and strong points.  Even learned things about herself that she hadn't realized.

Good luck with your appt on Fri, and I really hope your vertigo will give you a break.

Take care,
coni
