She needs to see an ophthalmologist.

I live in a small mining town, where we regulary have no G.P, even
.
Very frustrating.
Can you advise what sort of eye doctor I should take her too?
I will get onto my neuro also and try to get her into him, also myself as I'm still suffering sympton and have been left hanging again, after my last lot of mri's.
I take children's complaints very seriously. They deserve complete evaluations. Pain in one eye is not a typical thing a child complains about, so I think you are doing the right thing.
Yes, I would discuss this with your neurologist. If he blows it off, then seek out a pediatric neurologist. I think some visual testing like a VEP or peripheral fields might be in order. If I were the pediatrician, I would push for an MRI.
That said, and as you already noted, kids will pick up the chronic complaints of their parents, such as fatigue, headaches, back pain. I always worked it up, but sometimes it would sort out that way. Yes, I am talking about somatization. It is something we would see in kids. But, eye pain in only one eye is pretty specific. I would take it seriously.
I had forgotten that you are in OZ. Here we have speical centers of excellence in Pediatric MS. Do they have anything like that there? I also believe that the docs at these centers do some sort of international consultation.
Keep on it.

Quix,
If you read this, I would really appreciate your opinion or advice,
Melissa
Thanks
No certainly don't discuss ms with her, she doesn't or wouldn't even understand what it is.
I did ask the optomatrist if her optic nerve was ok and he said yes.
I may even ring my neuro and discuss my concerns with him, he is very approachable.
I got very concerned when she said about the bluriness in the sore eye when she walks, rides, and runs etc as these are things that will make her body heat up.
And how when she sits down it goes after a while.
Also the fact that my neuro thinks I have ms, and she also complained of the sore eye about 18 months ago, so this is twice now.............
I'm very worried
I think the best thing to do is to take her to an ophthalmologist, who is a medical doctor, which optometrists are not. You do know that her vision is fine, so the problem is not with that.
If you have access to a neuro-ohthalmologist, that would be even better, since his or her subspecialty deals with optic nerve issues. Even if nothing is found, that will create a baseline which can be compared to later exams.
If the doctor sees something wrong, that will be the time to contact your neuro. This all may take a while to play out, so keep in touch with the doctor.
I think you're wise to be low key about this, and not to discuss MS with your little girl. Encourage her to let you know if something feels strange but soft-pedal it a bit.
Please let us know how things turn out. And good wishes to you too. Hope your symptoms aren't too bad.
