Thank you for responding. In fact, this evening I ran a HOT bath, living in Maui its a bit much, though I love my baths. I ran the hot water on my feet, I couldn't feel the temp, but on my hands it was very hot. This evening the shocks in my feet were quite suprisingly bad.
Yes you made total sense. I had an e'coli infection a few months ago and the fever made the pains worse.
Thank you!

Aloha Roxanne,
Thanks for the welcome and response. Its amazing how many different things can set off the disease itself. I really don't want it, but lord knows I'm high maitenance. So take it for me to have some high maintenance disease. So many symptoms, so many questions.... for starters 'why us?' :)
Karrie
Aloha Penn,
Thank you for the 'welcome' and making sure my post gets moved up I appreciate it.

Hi, I'm waiting to fall alseep. A fever, especially accompanying an infection is a potent stimulant of MS symptoms. Anything thing that raises the body's core temp even a partial degree (exercise, long hot shower, hot tub, hot day) can casue a pseudoexacerbation of MS. That is where the symptoms all flare up just like a relapse, but calm down as the body cools.
The UTI is a known stimulus for a relapse, with or without fever, as in an upper respiratory infection. I suspect that it was the infection that caused your symptoms and not the Cipro. In fact, I was getting severely increaed fatigue and arm weakness. My MS neuro thought I might be starting a relapse and checked me for infection. I had a silent UTI. We were able to head it off with the antibiotics, but he thought I might slip all the way into the relapse, so I was lucky.
Now there are some very vocal people online who claim delayed neurologic (and severe ones) syndromes sometimes months after taking the class of antibiotics that Cipro belongs in. I don't really now much about it, but it sounds a little hokey to me. You could google Cipro neurologic side effects and read, but "Common things are Common" (a medcial truism) and the UTI is the more likely culprit.
Does this make sense? Quix
Hi Welcome... Not as a professional.. just a MS'er..... I do know that fevers can cause increase symptoms with me... as heat is a big factor in most people.. whether its fever or hot outside or bath etc etc.... I do know there was a post about UTI causing someone alot of symptoms... I'm not sure if the DRUG is causing your symptoms, or the REASONING behind why you are taking the drug... does that make sense?? If not, Im sure someone will make it make sense lol
Take Care
Roxanne
Welcome to our little group! I don't have a diagnosis yet, and so cannot answer your question, but I wanted to bump you up to the top, as your post was about to get pushed to the black hole that is page 2 - lots of activity today for a weekend, easy to get lost int the shuffle. Those with the answers will be along soon, no doubt. In the mean time, take care.
