Helping during ms attacks

I would like to know as a significant other of someone with secondary MS what can I do to help while they are having an attack, besides making sure they are in a safe place and not hurting themselves?  Do you recommend any books or literature in helping me get ideas in how to give them the best support I can?

Hi, welcome to the forum.  I am puzzled by your question.  When you refer to these attacks, you mention "making sure they are in a safe place and not hurting themselves."  What kind of "attacks" are they having?  It almost sounds like you are witnessing a seizure or something.  Are you referring to bouts of depression and suicidal thinking?

The need for a safe place and not hurting themselves...this sound very serious.  Would you be willing to describe more of what you are concerned about?

You are a breath of fresh air in tonight's discussions!!! God bless you for being such a caring partner!

I cannot give any further info than our dear Heather, but just had to say how awesome it is to see SO's who will seek out ways to help!

Yeah!

I would suppose that the best place to gather free literature on this subject, would be the Multiple Sclerosis Society.  You can access this from the Internet and request literature and brochures.

Bless you for wanting to know everything you possibly can, about taking care of someone with MS.  You are obviously very compassionate and caring.  God Bless you.
