Newbie's Story

I had my first attack in 94 just after my first wife left me. I suffered from numbness on the right side of my face for about a month and half. i went and saw some Dr's and had CT scan and MRI, they told me it was inconclusive and said it might be a virus. It passed and there was nothing untill 04. The tingling started in one leg migtrated to the other and up to my waste.

The journey to Dr's started and ended with an other MRI. The neurologist that I saw last "confirmed" that I probably have MS. Told me that treatment was not suggested unless the symtoms got realy bad.

Now it seems that the thinkng is to treat as soon as possible. This year my attaks have changed, no tingleing, but aching legs and back.

I do know what sets it off though, stress does it for me.

So I am waiting to go to a very good clinic at St.Mikes.

And I can't spell worth s##t.

I'm sure you'll have enough!!  They didn't take that much!   :-)

Don't forget Quix's list of additional tests!

Good luck!  Pat :)

I would recommend you asking for blood tests, to rule out other stuff.  Karina

Did the neurologist not do any further testing than the brain MRI?

I had a spinal tap right after the suspicious brain MRI.  My neuro did took bloodwork to rule out mimics at the same time.  I also think that's unusual also that your neuro did not do either one of those tests.

Hopefully, your next appointment will be much more productive for you!  How much longer do you have to wait before your appt at St. Mike's?

Are you on any meds at this time?

Nothing wrong with memory or ballance, one thing is wierd after all the Dr's that I've seen I had no special blood work done.

Are you having memory, vision, or ballance problems?? If you do have MS it is good to start meds as soon as can. But on the other hand if you start on MS meds and you don't have it and it's something else, you don't know what kind of damage you can do to your body. My suggestion is to wait until you see St. Mike's dr. Wait til you find out for sure. When is your apt with them?/ This is just my suggestion, obviously you can do whatever you want.   Karina

Welcome,

You seem to be on the right track as in seeing a specialist.Yes,the earlier the treatment, the possibility of slowly the progress.
