I just got done having my first round of IV steroids last weekend after my first relapse. I had been having horrible vertigo. On the 2nd day, I felt pretty good. A few days after the steroids were done I experienced all of my symptoms at once. My nerve pain was off the charts and I was told that is what happens after steroids.
I also have a cold sore now on my lip that I haven't had in years, no one told me that steroids reduce your abillity to fight off infection, so I have a cold. I have been fatigued too, but I don't see what else I could have done differently. The vertigo may not have gone away.
Take good care of yourself. Steroids play havoc with your emotions. Hang in there, I feel for you and know exactly what your going through.

Thanks everyone! I went to the lab yesterday for bloodwork, urinalysis and a chest x-ray. The doc wants to rule out possible infection before she starts any steroids. I'm staying home today and taking it easy. It's so hard not to feel guilty though! Just sitting here, I know there are chores that I could be doing. Just say no, right??
Hang in there Hun... Thinking good thoughts of For you! And praying you feel better!!! Where else to get it out than amoungst ur family here who truely understands.....??? Take care sweety!!!
Sending commiserations and the hope that you'll feel better soon. Do keep calling your neuro till you get some help. That's his job. Remember, the squeaky wheel gets the oil.
Hang in there.

Hiya...well I was only diagnosed last week and am also in my first serious relapse and literally feeling exhausted. i have finally given in and gone to bed as that is what my body craves. My neuo gave me oral steroids although I can't say I felt much different and they made my sleep worse. Hope you have got good support and rest up...
This is the place to complain - kvetch away! All this aside, DO contact your neuro. A course of steroids will likely help you feel better, and shorten the duration of your flair.
