Hot water feeling.

Imagine my shock after finding this link. I thought my condition was from sciatica, now I am very worried though. I lost a brother in 2009 to complications from MS and just found out my other brother was recently diagnosed with MS.
I never considered it in my own case. It's just happening to me so often that it is really bothering me enough to investigate what could be causing it. I have mentioned this to my doctor and she has never really seemed concerned about it.
Sometimes it feels like someone spilled hot tea on my legs, or foot. Also I get the sweats constantly and also sometimes when I'm laying in bed it feels like someone pokes me with their finger in the middle of my back. It can wake me right up out of a dead sleep.
Also sometimes it feels like the tendons in my neck are being pulled beyond their comfort zone. Almost like someone tightening a guitar string to the point it will break.
How did you all find out you had MS? Did you have these symptoms first or did the symptoms come later?
I'm really hoping mine is just nerve damage from my back.
Any answers offered would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks Sarah,

I had honestly never even connected the symptoms to MS. When my oldest brother was diagnosed I actually blamed it on him drinking diet pop and believed it was a wrong diagnosis and figured his symptoms were due to poor diet and not taking care of himself properly,
I never thought about it for one second even after learning that my other brother was diagnosed recently.
I didn't connect any of my symptoms as all being related to each other. I figured it was just back related and shift work making me feel so horrible and tired all the time.
I actually have had all sorts of things going on and viewed them as separate issues. It wasn't until I looked up the hot water pouring on my legs and feet that I found this site.
I also have things going on with my left eye. Some loss of vision from a piece of gel that has broken off and is floating around inside of my eye.
My doctor is sending me for nerve tests and a surgical consult because my MRI is showing my back has gotten very bad and I have severe stenosis around my spinal cord now.
I imagine the nerve testing will be by a neurologist. And I will mention everything to him/her.
Thanks for your reply.

I think that you need to see a good neurologist and have a thorough examination.  Be sure and tell him/her about your family history of MS.  Be prepared, probably, for a long period of tests.  Many mimic diseases will have to be ruled out with blood tests, neurological tests, etc.

I certainly hope that you don't have MS, you have so many symptoms, I think you need a professional to sort them out.  We are all just patients helping each other.  It took me many, many years and several neurologists to obtain the diagnosis I don't want.

For the past few years it has felt like I have a lump in my throat. It was checked and there is nothing there but when I swallow I sometimes choke or food seems to stay in my throat and I can rinse it down or force it back up if it's not going down after trying several times over an extended period to swallow.

I also have major spasms in my hip and calves and feet. The hip is the worst though, it actually feels like the muscle is pulling my hip out of the socket. I have to lay my seat back in my car if I'm driving so it can be quite dangerous at times I have to pull over as fast as I can.
I get injections for pain 3 times a week and I just put it all down to a bulged disk and pinched nerve. Now I'm not so sure because my pain doctor has no idea what the hot water thing is about. And sometimes I feel extremely light headed or faint. Also when speaking my words sometimes come out of order or I'll replace words by mistake, like instead of saying please turn off the light it will come out as close the light. When I would never normally speak like that.
I'll add more as I recall.
Sorry if this thread is really long.
