I feel like I have been posting a lot lately and asking a lot of questions....sorry but my body has been on the crazy train lately...lol
I was wondering how many of yall experience this....Today I have been getting a pressure build up in my ears and then a high pitch ringing ....It really scared me today when I was driving I had to grab my ear......I occasionally will get some ringing but nothing like this....being in limbo land really stinks...I'm not DX yet and almost feel like I shouldn't be posting on this forum but there are some many understanding and knowledgeable members that provide get information and compassion...I can't help myself ha ha

Thanks in advance for any comments..

I have the very same problem-pressure build-up followed by significant ringing/whistling.  I thought it may be related to the spams in my throat and jaw.  I have had my hearing tested by an audiologist who said everything seemed normal-although I wasn't having symptoms at the time.  When I do have audiologic(sp?) symptoms, the pressure/ringing in my right ear is also accompanied by sensitivity to high-pitched sounds, my left ear has trouble distinguishing conversational speech(esp. notable when I'm at work in the pharmacy and wear a wireless headset on my right ear).  I'm not sure if this is mostly "mechanical" due to the spasms or if there is direct neurologic involvement.

I hope you get some kind of answer; and if you do, please post here to let the rest of us in on what's going on.

I am still in Limboland, but working frantically to get my local neuro to push for a sooner appt with the MS clinic in Milwaukee-currently set for March 2011!!!  I feel like I'm on a slippery slope downhill, and if someone doesn't intervene soon I fear I may be looking at permanent damage.

Best of luck to you, and stay well!!

Kelly,

Never feel like you post to much here, I felt like that a while back and was informed that there are never too many questions when you are in limbo and that is what this forum is for.  We are all here to try to help one another.

As for the ringing in your ears, I get that sometimes but not too often and I have never had it as severe as you have described here. Have you seen and ENT or have an appointment with one anytime soon? If not then maybe it is something to look into, so you can see what may be causing it.

I hope it feels better,
Paula
