Incontinence, 1 and 2

Hi...
I'm new to this particular community.  After yesterday, I decided to get on here and check out what people have experienced and are saying about their experiences with incontinence.  So glad that I did.  I've actually been dealing with this since the spring of 2010.  In addition to the incontinence, I have severe dizziness and balance problems, a feeling of buzzing (like your phone when it is on vibrate) in my legs), intermitting numbness and burning-tingling in my feet and hands, blurry and double vision, and fatigue.  I can usually stay ahead of the incontinence, but lately it has gotten to the point that passing gas means leaking, and then there was yesterday.  Both fecal and urinary incontinence while I was at school.  Thank God, I was done teaching for the day, I cleaned up the best that I could, and I headed home.  I do have a call in to my neurologist in the hope that she'll tell me something...anything.  As far as meds, I'm on klonopin, diamox, adderal (to help with fatigue).

There you have it.  Does anyone have any thoughts about this?  BTW I have not yet been diagnosed, although my neurologist is a MS specialist.  Thanks, in advance, for your help.

PastorDan...
I've heard that caffeine is also an instigator of situations like incontinence.  I'll keep the onions and root beer in mind.  I actually enjoy both of those, but I'd give them up and more not to have to go through this again.
peace,
Anne

Thanks for the response, kwarendorf...
My neuro is actually a MS specialist.  I've had MRI, SPECT and LP...tons of bloodwork.  The SPECT showed degeneration in the right temporal and frontal areas, the LP did show an elevation in protein.  My biggest fear (it's almost a joke to say that) is that whatever this is has been flying below the radar.  In the meantime, I am making sure to stay close to bathrooms and time my intake of fluids and food.

Inquiring minds are more than welcome to ask.  :)
peace,
Anne

My experience has been better since makimg some dietary adjustments recently.   Nothing major, mostly just limiting the amounts of things like onions and root beer that set me off.

I am unDx too, so my advice should always be taken with a grain of salt.  Hold the pepper.

Hi TDM- Welcome to our little group. I'm not going to be any help with incontinence, but some of the other symptoms you describe could certainly be MS related.

As you doc is an MS specialist, what does she think? Have you had MRI, LP, blood work? Inquiring minds want to know :-)
