Is this Spasticity?

Hi, Everyone.

I'm having a bad time these past few days. My back and pelvic area, abdomen, and my inner thighs have this pulling sensation. Is this spasticity? I am absolutley miserable. Keep trying to stretch but nothing relieves it.

Still awaiting the EMG results and Dr. K's opinion.

I think we are leaning towards abby. She's just a real shy and timid,in time she'll adjust.Or could be the fact that she weighs 47 pounds and to fat to move. She learned real quick how to walk on a leash and do the steps. It was killing me to lift her.

Yes the dreaded kitchen,it zapped all my energy and I slept to 2 pm today.I'll hopefully finish it tomorrow.

This disease discourages me,I use to be able to clean my whole house in a couple of days ,now I can't even get a simple kitchen cleaned. My kitchen is the largest room in my house I have 23 cupboards and a walk in pantry.Or just to much ****!!!!!!.

I did get the ceiling fan blades cleaned(4 of them) but someone needs to take down the all the globes.

I'm hoping to finish tomorrow and start the dining room.

You've had your hands full with getting your house ready to show.I have a historical home and we have been restoring it.I reckon that in a few years that we'll down size.

Sorry to hear that you won't get to see the grand babies this weekend, hopefully soon.

Maybe you can call home health and ask whats going on!!!!!!

Many don't move quick in the health field to quick, when home health came in , a company dropped off the solu-medrol and home health was here the next morning.I hated the port for 5 days. They put it in my right wrist and I'm right handed.Go figure.Make sure they put it in your opposite hand.

Hmmmm....maybe you can call her 'Nameless'. LOL Just kidding. Why is this puppy so scared? Usually, pups at this age are bouncing off the walls with energy.

Oh no, not fall kitchen cleaning! Take it s-l-o-w. I finished last Friday, and I'm still shuffling, and my spine is stinging. I only have 4 more rooms to go and I need to finish before they show my house.

I won't get to see the grand-babies this weekend. Home health care has not called yet. :(

The puppy is still nameless,it is the laziest thing ,most pups have energy not this one.I think its to fat to move.At least I can keep up with it.She's just really scared.

I started to fall clean my kitchen, got most of it done, what a chore.Gonna try to finish tomorrow.Only 11 more rooms to go.It may take me all winter(lol)

Hopefully home health will call soon.

Spending time with the grand babies sounds wonderful.I hope you get to see them this weekend

The only thing I did on Sunday & Monday was bathe the girls. DH blow dried them after.

I feel for you shaking off the effects of the fentynal. I hate that feeling. I'm glad the doctor felt things looked good. I hope the results of the ultrasound of your gallbladder are good, as well. Not good that you have to wait 2 weeks for the results though. I hate waiting.

Your new puppy sounds adorable. What did you name her?

I'm waiting for Home Health Care to call and schedule the solu-medrol. I had hoped it would be today, tomorrow and Thursday. Wanted to try and get down to see my grand-babies this weekend. They're 8 months old now and I haven't seen them since they were born.

Hope you are giving your body a rest.

Had the scope today, not bad, just now shaking off the fentynal they gave me.i don't do well on that. The DR said it all looked good and they had them do an ultra-sound of the gallbladder, they got me right in----suprising.Won't know the results until the DR gets back from vacation in 2 weeks.

Got my puppy today, this pup for 12 weeks is huge and has less energy than me.If I walk it follows,if I stop it lays down. But she's a cutey.Hopefully she'll get over her fears of everyone.

Did you get your solu-medrol scheduled?

Hi, Zilla.

I finally got some resolution with the bill from U of C Hospital. Our local Benefits Rep at Ford called BCBC of MI for the 4th time, and finally he got someone that was knowledgeable. She called U of C and in a matter of a few minutes, got the PPO discount which reduced the doctors fee from $509.00 to $107.00. She wasn't able to do anything about the $210.00 'use of office' charge, but our Rep said he'd refuse to pay it. He said they may threaten to take us to court, and he said, tell them we will counter-sue for fraudulent charges. He said he feels they try to recoup some of their money they lose on the PPO patients.

This is the first time we've ever had a problem with a doctor's office filing a claim and getting our PPO discount. I will never go back to U of C again.

The Rep said don't send them anymore money until they send us an adjusted statement.

I wanted to thank you for all the advice. Your encouragement helped me hold my ground.

  Hugs,

Hi, Zilla.

Thank you so much for all the advice.

So far, our insurance benefits rep has gotten no help from BCBS. My son works for BCBS, of IL, and our insurance is out of MI. We had to submit an authorization for him to speak to BCBS on our behalf.

When he finds out the details, we'll know whether or not we have to pay the entire amount, and if so, then I've learned a very expensive lesson.

The one thing, however, I will still refuse to pay is that $210.00 office charge fee.

Things are just so different where we live in IN. All the hospitals and doctors offices do the "Predetermination of Benefits" and advise us in advance what is not covered. They even know what the 'amount allowed' fee will be for our office calls, consults, etc. They do their homework out here.

So far, they have accepted payments on the bill...although they do have those annoying messages on my bill....this bill is past due, it needs your immediate attention...blah, blah, blah. My DH, DID call and speak to them when we first received the bill and told them he would make a payment on it each month while we investigated it.

If they threaten to send it to collections, I may just tell them to 'kiss my moony a**!

   Again, thanks.

I hope you're feeling better soon!

If it's going to affect your credit, like you are getting statements saying they are putting you into collections, then bring up the Dept. of Insurance agency.  Otherwise, just say you refuse to pay something that's not billable, until they can show you what they have billed for.  You want the code.  Your insurance company should have a patient rep that can help you.  But, yes, if it's going to affect your credit, and it probably is at this point, state that you are drawing up a letter for the regulating insurance agency.

It may help, too, to say they may have mistakenly billed this 'procedure,' and ask that it be removed from your bill, as you have looked into it, and your patient rep at your insurance company can find no billable code for it.  (Blatant lie, I know)  But it gives them an out.  Then tag on that if it is going to affect your credit, you will have no option but to contact the governing regulatory insurance agency.

It probably wouldn't hurt to tell them to kiss your moony a**, either.

Good luck!

They had better stay away from my 'moon' if they know what's good for them! LOL

If they don't get it schedule pretty soon, I'm going to be cranky.

Regarding insurance; I looked at my E.O.B. on-line for Cleveland Clinic, and they submitted Dr. K's fee as a consultation and I got the 'amount allowed' so now I know University of Chicago should have submitted it that way. I'm sending them a letter telling them to submit it with the correct codes, and I am also refusing to pay that $210.00 use of office charge. Should I tell them I am putting in a complaint with the IL Dept. of Insurance? Thanks for any advice.

If they're aiming for your "moon,"  tell them to kiss the other end!

You'll have permission to be cranky!

Moon 'em!

You've had a busy weekend between both games. That's great that your daughter helps you and the other Mom out with the concession stand.

I hope the Z-pac helps you.

Ooh, fire in the fireplace sounds nice.

Not cooking dinner either. DH is going to grill some hot dogs. Then, I'm laying down on the couch with the Yorkies and I'm not moving 'til bedtime.

Right now, I don't know how I'm going to manage showings.  Sounds crazy, but I'm glad they haven't scheduled any yet.

Have a peaceful evening.

I called it a day also.

Had the football game last night and The junior varsity game this morning.me and another mother with MS both run the saturday concession stand and we both are fighting sinus infections.Thank God my 21 year old daughter helps us.My daughter is gonna bring me in a Z-pac(anti-biotics) she got them from my sister thats a nurse to see if they help.

I put a fire in the fire place and gonna chill,Ain't even gonna cook dinner because no one is here to eat tonight.I'm solo.Just me and the dog.maybe we'll order out.

I know we suffer when its hot we suffer when its cold.Football is almost over .I hate to say it but yea. They are looking at going to the playoffs. So it may not be over as early as I'd like.At least wrestling is in the gym.

I hope it's not a bacterial infection. If so, they need to hit it fast, and hard.

I actually like prunes, but they don't do a thing for my bowels.

I suspect the new puppy will learn to sense when to move, and not trip you. It's funny, one of my Yorkies will park herself in my way when I am feeling ok, but when I am shuffling, she moves without being told.

Maybe you should be the supervisor when it's time to trim up the garage. :)

I'm sorry you had to leave the game early. We just can't catch a break; we suffer when the weather is too hot, and we suffer when it is too cold.

I've slowed down now, too. Ironed those bed-skirts and I've quit. Body just won't do one more thing.

I should have the scope results the same day all for the biopsy,he wants to see if its a bacterial infection.Which I seem to get UTI and sinus and bronchitis quite often. When I'm on antibiotics my stomache is fine.

With the bowels  try prunes,I hate the things but they do help.Since I have had the 2 lumbar surgeries,I've had bowel problems and prunes and prune juices have really helped.

I'm excited about the new puppy, just hope I don't trip over her.

No more gutters, they are done, just gotta put trim up on the exterior of my garage,my son will help me.

I have slowed down alot,I can't stand the muscle spasms,I had to leave the football game last night,it was cold and the spasms set in

Hi, Chris. Over here, it is also your responsibility if you leave the hospital, without a doctor discharging you, and something happens to you. I would not like the waiting time to see a specialist.
Yes, definitely have done too much. A few days in the hospital will be ok, after all. No, I don't think I'll clean their cupboards. LOL I think cleaning is over for me for awhile. I think my D.O.'s nurse got this handed off to her with no explanation. Lack of communication in that office. I hope they'll get it scheduled for next week. I need this pain to be lessened. My hands and wrists are ok typing, but my back can't take it when I sit for more than a few minutes. And my brain and hands are not cooperating, because I think I'm typing ok, then I read what I typed and the letters are all transposed, so I spend twice as long, correcting it. XXX Sheila

Oh, I know you're right. I am going to slow down. My body gives me no choice. Today I am going to SIT, and iron the new bed skirts for the beds. I guess I am trying to get the things done that I know my DH won't have time to do, and therefore, won't get done, if I don't do them.

I did discover something, the increase in nerves in my spine stinging, causes my bowel to have absolutely no function.

No more gutter cleaning for you!

I think the new puppy will definitely help you regain your energy. Playing with a puppy is fun, so I think it will relax your mind and body.

Good luck with the scope on Monday. When will they have results?

I think my D.O.'s nurse was baffled because she probably got this handed off to her, with no explanation. They no longer work for the same doctor every day. Now, they have 3 doctors and they rotate, so they are not familiar with the patients charts, etc, anymore. She has always been one of my favorites, and I was disappointed when they moved the practice and changed things.  Hopefully, after she spoke with my D.O. she found out she needs to call the hospital. Poor gal, he hadn't even written a procedure code in the order for her.

girl friend ya need to slow down just a bit.

I know when I get involved and set my mind to getting something done I go gung ho and then I'm down for a few days.

The other day I cleaned my gutters and I have paid for it since, terrible spasms in my right back side of my ribs,I feel like I hyper extended the muscles.

A hospital stay will give you time to recover and REST !!!!!!  That does do our bodies good.

Yes, the steroids do poof out the face and makes the wrinkles disappear temporarly.

The puppy has to wait until monday,I'm having my stomache scoped monday morning so we'll get her after that.Puppy's have lots of energy so maybe this pup will help me regain mine.

The DO's office needs to contact the local hospital and they'll set everything else up.

Give your body some rest.

Hi shelia yes its pretty common over her if you want to discharge yourseld you just sgn a piece of paper saying that you except if you discharge yourself anf anything happens to you its basically your lookout !!! We dont have health insurance in the same way as you do! Basically when your working you pay national innsurance contributions out of your wages healthcare is then free at the point of use . This is one of the reasons why its difficult to see specialists get tests done etc. The waithing list for the neuro I have is 18 months for example unless you have a stroke, brain hemorage cant spell it ect !  Thought you'd domne too much and yes a rest in the hospital will probably do you the world of good unless you decide to start cleaning their cupboards lol Sounds like your healthcare system has similarities to ours communication problems oooh! really \1 I wouldnt mind being wrinkle free either lol no chance whatsoever there !!! Have to keep taking breaks from typing shelia stupid pains in my hands wrists and fingers great isnt it !!! xxxxchris

Chris, it really is horrible. Some days, the pain is so unbearable, I just ask God to call me home. So, I am really hoping the solumedrol decreases the inflammation around the nerves. Can hubby really discharge himself from the hospital? wow. If we did that here, our insurance wouldn't pay our bill. Yes, I cannot believe how much work I've done. Of course, now I am in agony. Maybe some time in the hospital will be good. Although, it looks like it's not going to be soon. Still no call back from the nurse. She didn't know who to call to schedule it. Said she'd have to ask the doctor. I don't know, I would think she should call the hospital scheduling dept.and ask them. I wouldn't mind wrinkle free if I could stay that way. LOL XXX Sheila

My D.O.s nurse is having trouble figuring out how to schedule my infusion. I don't think they've ever had to schedule one as inpatient before. So, it looks like it might take some time.

I wish I'd had it already, I could have used the energy today. I worked on the kitchen cabinets and drawers;11 double cabinets, 2 singles, a Lazy Susan, and 9 drawers. I never want another kitchen this size again! Really making me re-think our decision to sell the house & move. Too much work.

I'm grumpy without the steroids. LOL

Congratulations on the new puppy!  I think she'll boost your energy! Nothing like a new puppy in the house.

Just think~ If you get the "moon face" from the steroids it will plump out any fine lines or little wrinkles you may have.  I'm so jealous!
