Wondering

I got a message from my neuro's secretary today telling me that she had some results for me and for me to try and reach her tomorrow.  (it was almost closing time for their office). The message also said for me not to worry that it was nothing bad but she wants to tell me the results and what the doctor's recommendations are.  I have a feeling that they were unable to pin my problems to anything :(.      I will be going nuts until I speak with them tomorrow.  I don't understand why she couldn't say "all is normal and we would like you to follow up in six months or so" in the message since I have a feeling that this is what she is going to say.  Oh well, here we go I guess.

It is a pain this waiting business.  I was waiting until I had all of the tests (I still had the MRAs and the EEG left to do ) in order to make the appointment with the neuro, but he beat me to it by calling me.  I guess if the Neuro did not ask for me to make an appointment then it could mean that  everything came back inconclusive and he wants to take the wait and see approach.  My symptoms are getting a bit better but I am sure they will be back again just as they always do. :/

I have learned not to worry about messages from Doctor's offices. What I imagine is the message turns out to be something else. Usually something I had not even thought of.

My favorite was the week end the Neurologist left my hanging to see which test had come out positive. They told me one of my tests was positive then said but we are not allowed to tell you which one. How stupid is that? They had tested me for HIV, Neuro Syphillis, and Lupus which is routine after a LP. Lupus was the positive one. They did another test for Lupus and that was ruled out. I had a miserable week end and I was told I had MS when I went in to see the doctor.

Since then I just do not let what medical people tell me get me upset.

Alex

We all feel your pain!  It would be lovely if they could just go ahead and leave a detailed message- rather than leave you to sweat until tomorrow.  Hopefully they will at least have some good recommendations.
