a weird question...

Hey y'all,
curious Lee here again asking prolly a silly question, but again it is a question I have not found any answers to online, and being that I am soo curious, I am wondering if anyone else experiences it also.

So first let me explain, and it's a little embarrassing, but here goes.

I have a constant feeling to urinate, rush to the loo (toilet) and only pee a little, then I get the usual sigh of disappointment because I thought it would be alot more than what I actually put out. I also have leakage etc and have read this happens with some on here.

The thing is when I get the urge and during the rush to the loo and the final act of a very small niagra dribble (yep dribble because I only get 'falls' in the morning when I'm usually absolutly busting because I haven't peed all night, though I do get woken up at night to go).. where was I.. oh, right, when I get the urge as I said, I get tingles all through my mid section, sometimes all over and down my legs, like a wave of tingles.

My question ofcourse is does anyone else tingle (mild pins n needles) when they pee? and even though I prolly sound silly for asking, could this be an MS symptom? I know tingling, pins n needles and buzzing can be symptoms of MS hence why I am asking.

I guess it could be something else, but I have not found anything describing the same thing, I do not tingle in my private parts, is more inside and in the area's I mentioned.

so that is my weird question =)

*blushes*

Thanks ess

I'll certainly bring this up with my neuro when I see her, she might send me to one of those other doctors you mentioned and I can get this sorted. seems the list of Dr's just gets longer and longer.

am sure she's going to think I'm nuts but you never know unless you ask right lol

thanks for the reply =)

Hey, Chooky. The process of peeing is much more complex than it seems. Nerves are in involved from the brain all the way down the spine and to the bladder and organs. These nerves stimulate muscles to move, and it all has to be in the right order and with the right timing. When this gets fouled up, disaster can result, at least embarrassing disaster (it's happened to me so I know).

More serious than that, though, is their failing to act, at least some of them, which can lead to hesitation, retention and infection. That's happened to me too. A urologist or urogynecologist is the one to see to get this sorted out and find out what's doing what when. They have a whole set of --err--interesting machinery to do this.

As to the accompanying tingling, I too haven't heard of that, but sensory nerves go down the spine too, including the nerves that tell us when the loo is in our immediate future. So, I'm guessing here, the one causing the tingling may be near or touching the signal nerve, or there's a lesion affecting both of them, so you get 'double your money,' as it were. Just a theory here. A urogyno is your best bet for explaining this unusual phenomenon.

hi JJ once again,

yes, I guess it's why I cannot find anything on the whole pins n needles thing while needing to go and during, seen lots online about people getting orgasmic feelings while urinating but this is not like that, although it's not 'unpleasant' either

The urge to go NOW though is quite bothersome, was at the DR's today and was the last patient he seen, but his is a small office with a locked bathroom and I was sooo needing to go NOW that I practically screemed at him to give me the key! GIVE ME THE KEY!! all flustered like. We got a good laugh out of it afterwards though.. but was soo embarrassing.
I was going to mention the tingles to him but well, you know, was a little embarrassed as it was so just kept quiet.

sometimes I have no problems holding, on most days, but usually there is a build up. It's the surprise instances that become a  problem and  with frequency, I will go.. then 15-20mins later I haveto go again, and so forth.

I will try your technique and see if it will work for me in regards to quantity, I'll give anything a go if it stops the frequency...thanks

perhaps I'm just weird re the tingling bit lol

Hey Lee there's no silly questions around here :D

hmmm to be honest, i cant recall anyone mentioning pin's and needles specifically in their legs with their urinary issues, urge to urinate NOW, lack of any sensation/warnings and retaining urine, all come to my mind but i got nothing for leg tingling and urination sorry.

A trick I learnt to get more urine out, is when it stops flowing, relax the muscles and then try to go again, keep repeating until nothing comes out, if the bladder is retaining more urine than it should, this will usually restart the process, though unfortunately it's not always that simplistic but worth trying to see if it helps.

Cheers............JJ
