Thanks for the welcome and the suggestions. I try to pay attention to drinking a lot of water but I am rarely thirsty so I have to work at chugging the H2O :)
Fresh veggies are easier than water. In the last month I am working with a nutritionist and my body is trying to adjust to the changes. Hopefully this will be a food thing.
Do u play guitar? Nicky
Hi, Nicky! A belated Welcome from me. I have very little sensation in that region, and I rarely have the urge to go. For the last 8 years, I've trained myself to go first thing in the morning when I wake up. It takes a little time, but a little reading helps. Hardly satisfying, but it works for me. Another good time to train yourself is right after breakfast when that ol' gastrocolic reflex gets going. Better for folks who don't have to go to work first thing in the morning, lol!
I also eat a ton of fresh veg, and drink lots of water throughout the day.
Hi Kyle, thanks for writing. Trying to keep the bowels moving is too time consuming for me. I mean I just don't want to deal with another MS issue. Eat prunes, drink lotza water like u say. My doc suggested Miralax , it does help some.. The numbness kinda concerns me going forward . Were u able to go ahead with colonoscopy ? I am trying not to ever have one! I'm a 67 yr old baby.
Good luck, Nicky
Hi Mcnickyo - Welcome to the forum.
I/m not sure that what I experience is numbness, but there surely some confused messages being sent regarding the evacuation of my bowels! I can go 3-4 days between successful missions.
I am frequently constipated with the accompanying bloated feeling. I try to go but can't. There is often the feeling that although I feel like I'm pushing the door is not going to open.
I recently had a colonoscopy (routine) and the bowel prep didn't go well. the GI doc said that my MS likely played a part. For now, I take a daily stool softener and drink a lot of water. It seems to help a bit.
