Had the spinal leak 3 days post LP. Horrific headache as a result of the leak for a few days until it sealed back up.
So, not sure how to answer the pole because it asks 'with LP'...don't want to steer the results in the wrong direction. Let me know......

I had recurrent headaches after my LP....lasted for about 4 days...they were horrible!
Yes on the first one, no on the second. Had terrible headache that lasted 2-3 days if I tried to get vertical after the first one. The second one, no headache at all. I believe the difference was because I was given a full IV bag of saline solution after the second one. The fluid "replacement" seemed to do the trick.
i've had four over the years. each time i had the headaches. while on active duty i had friends of friends and getting the blood patch was easy and took care of the head ACHES!
the last one, no blood patch. 4-5 days before i was able to get up and about with slight wooziness. i called for one, but rationing is the name of the game and these headaches are not life threatening so they denied the patch.
I did not have a headache from the LP, but I came down with a very bad headache from a sinus infection 2 days after my LP. It was so bad, I came home from work and the headache lasted about 4 days. I felt better when sitting up--the pain was terrible if I tried to lay down. Before my LP I drank a lot of water and drank a lot of gatorade and water after the LP. Also laid down as much as possible for about 24 hours.
No kind of pain at all, during or after.
My neuro was so good and was proud to say that they perfected their technique in LP's. Said she only had to perform 1 blood patch over the years. I hardly felt a thing during my LP. I did have a slight headache but nothing that I dont usually get on some days stressed out.
have never had an LP, except for durring childbirth and had a crazy headache afterward. LP this week to check for bands and "culture"?!?
LP - NO (I drank plenty of fluids and caffeine.)
epidural x 3 for pain control - NO (There is no loss of spinal fluid with an epidural.)
myelogram (long time ago) - YES! (It was to view the cervical spine and the dye leaked into my head when the table was tipped down too far. That dye still showed up on a back x-ray years later!)
