Hi there,
Best wishes for your appointment. I think the best that you can hope for is a professional, nice neurologist, who listens, does a good exam, acknowledges your problems and procedes with the appropriate testing.
Sometimes making a diagnosis is not always easy, so that might take time but if they suspect it is MS that they continue to monitor you, re schedule MRI, LP etc. and exclude other causes, that is all you can ask for. I think your Dr is meaning that if you do have MS he would like it to be diagnosed and that you don't miss the boat with starting the DMD.
Limbo is horrible but I imagine so is the real deal, there is no turning back when you are diagnosed, where limbo might be something better, I hope that makes sense.
Take care, best wishes for your appointment, maybe do a time line, prepare your questions but stick to the important ones.
Cheers,
Udkas.
Wow. Sounds like you have a great PCP, keep him. I can so identify with what you are going through, since I'm in the lots of symptoms & undiagnosed & waiting for Neuro stage myself. I guess we should hope for the best outcome we could possibly have, regardless of what that turns out to be. Hang in there. I wish you the best.

As I like to say, "It is what it is." You don't have to hope one way or the other, just hope that the doctors get the diagnosis right.
"Missing the boat" seems to me like an odd thing for your doc to say though.
Good Luck to you.
