Venting here... Pain and sooo tired....

Hi everyone...I just don't know what to do...my legs, both of them now.. are sore...achy... numb... mostly won't stop for hours now..usually only in the evening, but not today... most of the day... and I'm so tired... exhausted from doing nothing...I'm trying to do laundry... that's so hard to do... folding clothes... my arms are just so weak too.  T3s don't help..and I havn't started that Gabapentin...maybe I will have too..

I'm thinking of calling the MS clinic.. I also had another vertigo spell, havn't had one for a few weeks...thought they would go away for awhile...no luck there.

sorry, can't sleep and just venting.. hope you are all sleeping and have a good night..

I'll post my complaints (physical) today also. New to this board and doing this sort of thing in the open.

Went hiking this past Sun. Goregeous day I might add. It was a light hike not terribly strenuous as I have not been in awhile so wanted to make an easy day of it. One of my issues is that if "jarring" of my body such as running, jumping rope, walking hard, etc., I will have really bad episode of confusion, head is really sensitive with dull pain, shoulder pain, weakness in my legs, equilibrium issues, nausea, etc.  Walking hard like over rocks and uneven terrain can set this off too sometimes although not to the degree a run or jumping rope would do. Have had to give up those two exercises, ugh!

Sure enough, yesterday and today the top of my head throbs with dull pain. The legs are a bit weak, and the equilibrium issue is a bit there. and yesterday my right hand little finger just had a day of doing it's own dance. You know, like moving on it's own back and forth. subtle, but a nagging thing it is.

I have some errands to do and some tasks to do today, so took some meds to help a bit, otherwise I would not go out and would just sit or lay down and veg out.

Have no idea where this comes from but it certainly is no illusion. These episodes have been going on for years now.

A day to vent.

Heather...I don't work anymore..it's been two years at home now.... and I hardly drive because of the vertigo spells.. things have not imporved in two years or no Dx... I used to fall over at work with vertigo and throw up in the office wastebasket as I couldnt move to get to the bathroom...so they would call an ambulance once again..it happened quite abit before I started having leg problems and speech problems...and vision problems...

Sam.. they want me to wait for a MRS,, abd 6 months for what I'm not sure.. the VEP and bladder ultrasound were normal as far as I know..I don't have those results..they wouldn't give them to me..??  but she said to call if I have a question or feel worse..

Karen, Terry and all  - I just hate to call and go and see her for her to look at me and say what do I want...you know that feeling... like she can't help... I know... find another Neuro..yet another one... I have to wait for my GP who is on vacation... and I will speak with him... boy oh boy..
thanks for being here guys...don't know what I'd do without you all..

bye for now

thanks for replies... I'm just getting up now..pacific coast... I did sleep after taking two clonasapam, one Tyl 3.. adavan.. and I slept for a few hours.. My hubby says I moved around alot and kick my left leg..I don't remember it.

My legs pains are one of my biggest thing.. it feels like what ever I'm wearing blue jean, baggy pants, PJ, whatever...they feel SKIN TIGHT on right on my skin that feel sunburned...if you know what I mean.. I sometime add heat which sound weird,,, and it helps temporaily.. the pain subsided for abit.. not long...

my arms get weak and I have aches in them, but not as bad as my legs.  I'm not on any DMD as I'm not yet Dx.. have to wait for more tests.. I've been doing this for two many years and I'm tired of it.

I go shopping and I can barely walk holding onto a cart...I'm thinking of buying a walker, buy with my leg so weak and sore I think I might need a wheelchair.. but I hate going there with no Dx.. what do you do??  My legs are so bad..

I try sometimes you know..to push myself and say I can do it like I used to so I move slowly and walk slowly.. trying not to tire out my legs or get pains... it only last for 1/2 a min...then my legs buckle under me.. no wonder I get tired I guess... WHAT IS WRONG WITH MY LEGS....sorry...have to have coffee...hehehehe....

I empathize with you.  Your complaints are my biggest complaints at this time.  I see my GP today.  I think I am not above begging for help.  Be sure to get your blood work done.  There may be something there contributing to your pain and fatigue.

Yeah, what's with the arm fatigue.  I can barely reach up to wash my hair and get tired holding up a towel to fold.  I have never quite figured this out.  And you know I have a diagnosis of MS.

The legs have been my major complaint since being diagnosed 13 years ago.  A symptom that never goes away.  Sometimes the pain medications doesn't touch the pain.  I take two medicines at night that seem to help me get through the night.  I also have Restless leg Syndrome, so I am on Klonopin for that.  I use to take Baclofen for the spasms, but I don't think I was getting much relief from those.  I took 30 mgs at bedtime.  Now I take a Soma every other night.  Please note that Soma is very sedating and will cause some horrible constipation.  Alot of doctor's do not like using it...of course not, because it does work for leg spasms.

I would not recommend things like Soma during the day, if you have to be at work or drive.  I think the pill is too sedating.  That's why it works for me at bedtime.  There is nothing worse than to be awake at night, while everybody else in the house is enjoying a restful sleep.

I hope we get a poster that tells us about the fatigue in our arms.  That's always been a bother for me but have been too stupid to tell my Neuro about it.  I figured it was because I was so out of shape.

Let us know what you find out.

Big Hugs,
Heather

Sorry to hear you are having a bad night.  I tend to be a night owl and this is my quiet time in the house.  I too have difficulty folding clothes when my arms are sooooo tired.  Feels like a work out lifting those 2 oz pieces of clothing.  I hope you are more comfortable since you posted this and sleeping snuggly.  :-)
