Does my daughter seem to have MS?

My daughter has scarring on 75% of both kidneys.  She is 14 years old.  She has never been energetic.  We have found out she has only 25% of her kidneys are functioning.  She has tremors in her hands, falls usually at least once a day or more.  Pain in her back and wants it to be rubbed.  Very fatigued.  Taking Steroids 40mg every other day, just got off steroids 40mg twice a day., Vit. D, Fish Oil, Iron, Tums (after ea. meal), drinking nothing but water,  She can be so sweet and be laughing but her mood can change and is very mean.  Normally, before all of this she was so sweet and quiet but loved to laugh.  She wants people to come to see us all of the time.  She has been pulled from her school because of all the sicknesses.  Could this be anything else?  Physical Therapy scheduled.  Also a visit to the Neurologist.  She is on a low potassium, low sodium, low phosphorus diet.  Scheduled to see Dietician.  Be put on Transplant list soon.

I am so sorry to hear of your daughter's illness.  I also have a fourteen year old daughter; this must be so hard on you.  I'll be praying for you both.

Please be sure to have a Lyme disease test done, if you haven't already.  It can mimic many diseases.  God bless you.

I'm sorry to hear about your daughter.  Has she been to a rheumatologist to rule out diseases like lupus?  Lupus can affect just about any organ in the body--even the brain.  It most certainly does affect the kidneys.  I hope you find some answers soon and your daughter gets the best of the best for medical treatment.

So sorry to hear of your daughter's illness. Just as Alex posted, I am not a doctor. A lot of your daughter's symptoms could be caused by whatever illness caused her kidney damage.

The mood swings could be from the steroids. I'm glad to see that she has an apointment with a neurologist. A neurologist would be the best person to determine if she has MS or something else wrong with her.

I'm sending good thoughts and best wishes to you and your daughter as you struggle through this medical maze. I personally know how hard this is as I have traveled the maze with my son. Just try to take one day at a time.  I know how difficult that is to do as a parent but it does lessen the worry if you approach it in small chunks.

Sending well wishes your way,

Ren

I am no Doctor. I have no clue what your daughter has. I am very sorry for her and for you. It sounds like a very hard situation for a child and you the parent who hurts for her.
